Belyeu just hit a hit ball to shallow left the short stop caught it. Thats how strong the wind is blowing tonight. 

Belyeu and Flores get out. Rodriguez with a single and then steals 2nd. 

 

Gasparino strikes out and leaves Rodriguez stranded. End of 1, Texas leads 1-0. 

TAMU-CC grounds out to short. 1 out.

Flores runs the count full, then Gasparino catches the pop fly. We head to the bottom of the 2nd, Texas up 1-0.

Few things I’ve noticed so far this season. Schloss clearly doesn’t have the rule about no facial hair like Pierce did. Schloss wants players to control their emotions. Grubbs and Harrison were big emotional guys on the mound last season. Completely different this year. Schloss doesn’t wait hoping a player will come around like Pierce did. If a player like Rodriguez isn’t performing he will replace them. Pitching is the same. 

That was a rope by Winfield, his best barrel of the season. 

I suspect this game will be a lot more uplifting than the men's basketball thread.
