Hoops: Texas vs. No. 2 Alabama Game Thread

Texas is in need of a huge win after dropping games to Arkansas and at Vanderbilt last week.

This chore is a tough one tonight in Austin with No. 2 Alabama (20-3, 9-1) in Austin.

The Longhorns (15-9, 4-7) will again be without junior guard Chendall Weaver with his return likely next week. Senior guard Tramon Mark has been upgraded to probable.

The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. central on ESPN.

  • Only bright spot of this season is Tre Johnson being so enjoyable to watch.

Heat of the moment comment. I think a majority felt that under the conditions at the time, though not perfect, Terry deserved a shot after the way the team under his leadership pulled together making

So this is a must win if we want any shot at making the tourney right?

No.  If we lose tonight and Saturday, then we will be in trouble, but even then we could make it by winning 4 of our last 5 and a conference tournament game.

But I'd love to see a win tonight.  Just not really expecting one after seeing what Bama did to Arky for the first 30 minutes in Fayetteville.

I think this is correct. It would be great to win a game this week but if they don't, it's time to win beginning at South Carolina. Fortunately, the schedule actually lightens up at that point.

Gotcha, the path keeps narrowing. We seem to show up and play highly ranked teams close. Hope that’s the case tonight! I’m not holding my breath either!

Shedrick all over the action so far.  Time to see if we can still hang with them while he takes a rest.

Johnson feeling it tonight.

I am praying one day Jayson Kent can show me one redeeming quality he has that calls for him to have a roster spot.

6-1 Bama so far while Shedrick has been sitting.

Mark seems a little out of sync.

When Terry called a timeout midway through the first half against Vandy, the team really responded.  Let's see if they do again tonight.

What is with the bounce passing to blanketed teammates?  We see way too much of that.

Every game. It’s like they see a cut five seconds late.

Does Alabama foul at all?

I would have called rwo in the last five minutes but I am biased, right?

I am here. It’s certainly not as loud as it could be.

well the coach produces no juice at all for the school.   why would  people go watch this pool coached, undisciplined, no offensive game plan embarrassment of a basket ball program.   we need a change so bad or fall even further behind
