Hoops: Texas vs. Chris Beard Game Thread The Texas Longhorns are in Oxford, Miss. to take on Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels tonight at 8pm CST on ESPN2 Texas (14-6, 3-4) at Ole Miss (15

  • Typical Texas game.  We're up 4 on the road against a ranked team.  And we have posters who only chime in when the other team scores. Damn, people.  We won consecutive games against top 20 teams.

Good effort but have a feeling this might come back to bite us on selection Sunday.  That was a very winnable game against a very average team.

Stupidly let myself believe maybe RT turned the corner the last two games

Great analysis. They beat back to back ranked teams and had a chance to win this one. Wake up man.

How so? Beard’s lost three straight before this one. Texas has won two of three against ranked teams. Beard has Auburn and Kentucky next.

Tough loss on the road to a ranked team.  We're still on a track to make the tournament.

We had a shot to tie, but missed it.  We had the guy with a chance for a putback in our previous possession, but there was unlucky carom.

Tough loss.

I'm sure there are several of our fans who will masturbate to the fact that we lost, but I'm not one of them.  I'm not going to say we would have won with Weaver available, but Pope was terrible tonight.  We rebounded well, but we lost the turnover battle big time.

Not a great team, but a team that has been scrapping for wins and nearly won a game on the road that Pomeroy gave it a 28% to win.

Let's beat LSU and get a win in our home stand against Kentucky and Alabama.

The sunshine pumping never stops, Huh?

im not one to complain about refs but that was a horrible officiating job.

Yeah but Texas had their chances. I think they have shown a lot of improvement. They need to string some more wins together.

How so what?  That ole Miss is average or that it might come back to bite us?

Didn’t know winning two of three against ranked teams is sunshine pumping. You are none stop negativity. Beard had lost three straight. Negative Nancy.

Good effort on the road. Tough to win those games on the road in this conference.

Missed free throw to tie, missed put back to go ahead and a missed three at the buzzer to tie. Texas had its chances. Encouraging loss, too many of those I will admit, but this team can battle.

I don’t think Ole Miss will fall off the map. They have two tough games coming up. The loss is unfortunate because it was right there. I thought you meant that Ole Miss was going to free fall from here on out and it would look like a bad loss. Misinterpreted what you were saying. My fault.

set up the corner trey well for the best shooter.  No shame on that.

Good game, even if a loss.

Hurts but they got a good look. Much better road performance than Florida. They are definitely improving.

I don't quite understand why Pryor played so little in the second half.  He had a very good game.  I think I understand wanting to believe in Mark because he had the big plays at the end of the game against A&M, but Pryor is showing us a lot of good minutes.

Seeing a lot of improvement. Would like to see more Pryor. Pope has been terrible in three straight second halves. I wish RT would not give everyone the take the shot if you get the ball order. Pope is struggling right now.

I don’t understand it at all. What else does the kid have to do?

Very encouraged by Pryor after tonight as well.

Kent had 3 offensive rebounds in the first half.

And he did nothing else the entire game.

Sometimes when I rag on a player, he plays well.

Kent, you have been nearly worthless this year.  So there is your prompt to kick some a** from here on out.

It’s four straight games. We should be seeing way more minutes. Have no idea what he has to do to get more playing time.
