Players absolutely played well enough to win

We were 100% sunk by hideous lapses of judgement by the coaches.

1. Being that aggressive on D at the end of 2nd quarter. Zero reason to blitz Guilbeau

2. Horrendous goal line debacle

Proud of the players, including Quinn. Quinn was lights out on that final drive until Sark sabotaged the drive. You can’t put your QB in that situation on 4th down, high pressure against the best defense in the country. Just can’t do it

I wholly agree, all that coupled with alleged first round pick Cam Williams just getting whipped on that strip for TD was gutting.

I think Quinn was fairly good in some moments, but definitely struggled at different points in the game.  He sailed the ball on Moore at the beginning of the game, put it over the heads of Helm and Golden a couple times, stepped into sacks multiple times, etc etc..  I just don't think he was a difference maker in this game like he needed to be.

so if our tight end doesn't get a 15 yard penalty for taunting do we score that touchdown at the end. only a brain surgeon would know i reckon.

They deserved better than the playcalling they got on the goal line.

That series was horrible. I just sat there in disbelief when a toss play was called

I kind of agree about the 1st point, but also to caveat that, the players were in position to make plays and didn't. You need to be more aware and get after it regardless of the time. Guilbeau was in a perfect spot to make the play and didn't. Same with Taaffe not getting in on that play, instead he took it easy.

I think the play call was fine but the execution was not. Also, my only other knock on PK would be stop taking Simmons off the field and don't drop him back into coverage. Let him attack.

I think Rod and Brian said it best on the live stream after the game, go at for 4 straight plays. If you don't get, you don't deserve to win. Not only that, it would give them poor field position. I just didn't understand the play call there. As Brian also put it, high risk/high reward play and it bit us in the ass.
