Portal Note

USC transfers Zachariah and Zion Branch are visiting Georgia, and are also currently expected at Arizona State this weekend at some point. 

Texas is a visit possibility as well, but a key with this portal recruitment will be where the family sees Zion's fit at the same school - barring a major change. Oregon is also on the list, somewhere. 

Zachariah Branch wants his brother taken care of from an NIL perspective, so there are some layers to this programs will have to make decisions on.

Davis, CB from Arizona?

any RB option?

The DT's?

Geez, that's a bit annoying.  I know his bro is a decent player, but I'd think they'd want both the boys to maximise their opportunity, not sure packaging them is the best way to do that.  Ah well.  Hopefully we can find a way to make it happen.

But that’s a lot of layers to a recruitment and I wonder how much Texas would comply. What happens if little bro decides he doesn’t play enough, do they both leave next year? These are untidy.

Perfect response. I definitely see wanting to make sure your brother is taken care of. That’s what you do for family. He doesn’t have to be at the same school to do that though. Plenty of ways to stay in close contact as well. 

My freshman year of high school, the baseball coach called my parents and asked if there would be issues if he brought me up to varsity while my twin brother stayed on the JV team. They said the coach needed to do what was best for the team as they’d do what was best for me.
I’d love to have my brother up there, but I needed to do what was best for me long term. We were both on varsity our junior and senior seasons. 
Zachariah needs to do what is best for him and his career. I wouldn’t go to a weaker system just because the school has playing time for his brother. 

Also, I haven’t seen Singleton sign yet if Texas wants to circle back that direction. 

Is Texas expecting any other WR to enter the portal like with DTs?

Sounds like Singleton and Branch are both going to slide by.  I’ll be interested to see where Sark goes from here.

Username routinely checks out 

I see people whose family members end up in jobs in the corporate world all the time. Especially if one of them is incredibly talented or powerful, this is about leverage and Zach has it. And I don't think it's just about the money. He has a chance to bring his brother with him to his next job and school. Get his brother a chance and have someone in his corner and with him. This is not about a school, this is a job, and their career. And someone is willing to make this deal. It may not be Texas and that is fine. I prefer Texas not making the kinda deal. But from their standpoint, if Texas said, "Yeah we will take both of you" why wouldn't take that deal? Great education if you want it, a chance at a national title, exposure to play with Arch, and you are paid market value with the opportunity to help provide for your family. You have to ask Texas if they are interested. I get it and am not mad about it, but I hope Texas passes.
