Texas has suffered its second portal casualty of the 2024 season.

Longhorn DL Jaray Bledsoe is expected to test the waters of college football free agency, 247Sports' Matt Zenitz the first to report.

Bledsoe saw time in three games this season, accumulating 16 snaps for the Longhorns in 2024.

We don’t need to be losing DL…..

But I’m sure we all trust Sark to fix it.

Bledsoe was getting passed up in the depth chart anyway if he was gonna star it had to be this year and it never came to be

But we waited for how long for Collins to actually produce?

I’m just saying I hate losing DL bodies.

We waited 4-5 years to see him star but he got on the field and produced as a freshman. We can't even get to the point of seeing Jaray on the field.

Good luck. I always rooted for him and waited for glimpses given how GH described his athleticism. Hope he puts it together somewhere.

It wasn’t gonna happen for him here. Hopefully the guy can find a home and get on the field somewhere like TCU, Baylor, or Tech.

You see him compared to Vernon Broughton and it shows that looking the part isn’t all that matters. Thought he’d be a stud.

ah, dang, one of the only two UT players I ever recall from my ancestral home in Falls County.  I fear the other one might transfer this year, too.

Wouldn’t be surprised.

Juan Davis also put his name in the portal last year, then chose to stay and has worked hard for this team. Would like to see Bledsoe maybe reconsider as experienced DL is a need for 2025 and put in the work.

Coach?

When you see athletic freaks passed on the depth chart by Freshmen it is a reminder that football if 90% mental.  It is about character and will.

Shying away from the challenge is the easy way out.

The timing though is curious. Why not wait until at least after Saturday to announce. Oh well good luck to him .

This was what I saw as Johntay's issue. Feeling like he was deserving of playing time based on his skill level, but not mentally handling the adversity properly. Which I fully understand as I've dealt with that since I left the military and jobs over the past 14+ years.

He's not getting snaps at a position where we've even seen Aaron Bryant get garbage time snaps. The earlier he declares, the better he can maximize his options.

This is what happens at programs that recruit and perform really well. Not all the high potential/high ranked guys are gonna pan out.

Someone's going to get a good one if they can let him develop another 4 years. lol
