Yikes. Looks like LSU ponied up. We’ll see what materializes before signing day. Think there could be one more twist in this one but obviously this isn’t ideal.

No Zion either it was reported on LSU site. Said he is shutting it down. Btw Lufkin lost tonight so his HS career is done.

An interesting thing to consider- big time decommitments can probably cause way more aftershocks in recruiting in the NIL era. Losing big recruits frees up NIL money so larger offers can go out to other recruits.

This is the new late cycle go-to move by the NIL agents representing highly ranked recruits.  Threaten to make a late cycle visit to a school with NIL coffers, and force the current school to pay-up to prevent the violence from happening.

We paid Ffrench and Myron Charles not to visit Florida this weekend, and LSU just did likewise with Phillips and Zion.
