What’s yall thoughts on Trey Moore? I think he’s played well, but hasn’t flashed.

Yeah, I said he’s playing well… but I doubt he’s up to his expectations.   I’m sure he’s thinking his sack #s would be higher.   I just wonder if his sack numbers don’t go up throughout the year, if he may think about returning a year, and boost his stock… that’s it. I’m not bashing the kid. I’m a fan of em.

To be fair you have to be a basically a god to live up to Texas player preseason media hype.

I asked the same thing because i didn’t expect zero sacks after five games with all of the hype during spring ball and fall camp 

Hard to get sacks when teams don’t pass, schedule hasn’t allowed for many pass rush opportunities until late in the game last week. You’d like to see some numbers though and in the next two games opportunities should come.

Played well, but hasn't flashed is probably fair.

The hype was unfair to Moore. Moore had 11.5 sacks of his 14 sacks vs weaker teams (3 sacks vs 8-5 Texas St, 3.5 sacks vs 4-8 UAB, 3 sacks vs 2-10 East Carolina and 2 sacks vs 6-7 Rice). Moore got zero sacks vs the better teams like TN, USF and Tulane. Unrealistic to expect double digit sacks from Moore vs a tougher TX schedule. 

Our 5* true freshman Simmons is more explosive.  Simmons is already our best pass rusher. Simmons already has 4 sacks in 5 games while playing fewer snaps than Moore!

I know one thing, his production hasn’t matched or even came close to the constant off season hype, but that’s not his fault.
