Just to right the wrong on a recent coffee and football podcast, Texas A&M most certainly was not ranked number one by the AP poll in 2012. We have to go back to the 1957 season when undefeated Texas A&M was ranked number one 10/28, 11/4 and 11/11. What happened to spoil this perfect season you might ask?  A&M lost to Rice 7 to 6 and then lost to Texas the following week. They followed this with a loss to Tennessee in the bowl game. Typical Aggie.
 

The only other time A&M was ranked #1 was in 1939. That was when some enterprising Aggies borrowed $50k from a bank in Dallas run by an Aggie and bought almost all of the top 50 players in Texas. I don’t remember the year, but probably 1937.

Apparently Bussey isn’t practicing with the starters in fall practice for A&M and one of their insiders said he wouldn’t be surprised if he just rotates in. How do 5 stars keep falling for it at A&M especially at WR?
