Why? Del Conte is equally ruthless and efficient. He hires winning coaches, period. I think his last 3 hires before today were all sitting national championship coaches in their respective sports.

Now I’m so curious how this all went down with CDC and Schloss?!?! Part of me wonders if it is because Trev Alberts is such a prick or if it’s that he and CDC are close an saw an opportunity to win championships at the flagship university in Texas? Whatever it is I’m sure the story is awesome!!

After reading thru several threads I think it wasn’t as complicated as we all thought. Apparently CDC and Schloss are close friends. Sounds like once CDC knew he was going to make a change he turned to his trusted friend, Coach Schloss. And Schloss apparently held the UT job in high esteem.
 

But Schloss and the aggies kept winning which caused a delay.
 

Might be a bit more complicated than that but maybe not.

I read on an aggie thread where there was a tiff reported between Trev & Schloss when Trev came in and fired some athletic department assistants who worked closely with Schloss without notifying Schloss prior to. Sounds like a Patterson esque move that rubbed people wrong.
