I hope so.  If Vic Schaefer coaches this team to a Final Four, it would be the best coaching job of his 4+ decades coaching career imo.  This team is young besides Booker, Cunningham, Preston, Graves, and Asbrink Hose.  Feels like a step back to a second weekend exit for this season before a big step forward in the 2027-28 season if most of this team sticks together.  But there is not much parity in women's college basketball, so Texas still has a chance to make a deep run.  A young team, but a very talented team for sure.

There is a ton of parity in the top 25. The SEC is a great example of it. The talent pool is growing annually. South Carolina, LSU, USC, Connecticut, Texas, are the top five, however,  there are a bunch of good teams.

Probably promoted to assistant game day coach. She was the player development coach at Texas.

Coach Carter was a promotion. She is like Coach Lovato now at Auburn. Right next to the Head coach. She was the star point guard when the Aggies won the Natty and Coach Vic was the assistant coach. They are very close. She is well known for her fashion sense. 

Has anyone heard how Lovisa has developed after redshirting? We need an update on her. Who is the women hoop reporter? 

 

Vic will join us on Coffee and Football tomorrow morning. 

I wonder if Kyla Oldacre could come back?  Like men’s college basketball, there are 15 roster spots available for women’s college basketball.  As of now, Texas has two roster spots remaining and some veteran front court depth would be nice to have and make me feel better about the potential of this team this season.

Doubtful because she sign a UDFA  contract

She never made a team and has been in Austin this entire time. MBB players have actually played in the G league and pros and returned.

She signed a pro contract regardless. I could love to be incorrect.

The MBB players that played in the G league have been declared ineligible in the courts is my understanding.

Kind of disagree to some extent -  She signed a WNBA UDFA contract,  She did not make a roster,  She has remained in Austin,  She is not currently playing professionally.

Under the injunction’s logic, that makes her situation very similar to the men’s basketball plaintiffs who were granted eligibility.

Unless the NCAA wins an appeal before the season starts (which they are actively pursuing), she should be eligible to return if she chooses and Texas wants her.

Kyla posting about last night’s breaking news. 

I am sure Coach Vic would take her back. If she were to devote herself to the weight room, she could be playing pro somewhere.
