I doubt Mara is there when the Mavs draft. But I love Morez Johnson, he just isn’t a huge need at the moment for Dallas.

As Gerry laid out, there a lot of reasons why Texas won’t raid Michigan’s roster once the 15-day window opens.

In a pinch, I actually like the idea of Mike Boynton taking over for May.
 

I think he’s a very good coach who had to deal with the fallout from the FBI probe into college baseball at Oklahoma State. With Michigan’s resources, there’s a chance he can keep the train rolling.

I hope fat boy Luka goes back to the Mavs. As a Lakers fan, I can't stand loser Mavs players on my team.

No. Look on page one. 

Texas already has 6 starters level players, key roles players, plans for player development. 

The top teams preseason next year have rosters accounted for ... Florida, Duke, Illinois, UConn, Texas, Tennessee etc... everyone has recruited their rosters, maybe save a potential key backup.

Texas is not going to try and pluck a Michigan starting player when they already have a roster accounted for, and NIL pretty much accounted for. Texas has six starters right now on their roster in the staffs mind, and some really good role players accounted for. 

The Texas roster was recruited for roles and minutes/rotations. There's also player development plans for players.

And so many teams have spent their allotment on rosters.

 

But I'm willing to bet Michigan hires a damn good coach, and those Michigan kids are under some very nice NIL contracts and remain with the Wolverines for the 2026-27 season. They are already in classes, and summer workouts too. If I was a freshman like a Brandon McCoy, it would give me pause. But very few options at this point in June.

Don't worry Gerry, I'm going to keep my thoughts super realistic which I will take your advice and not waste any time think about taking Thiam or anyone off the Michigan roster. Plus, the real prize is when Michigan decides to take Florida's coach and then we hit up one of the BMDs to bring in Thomas Haugh, am I right?

I would love Mara or Morez Johnson on the Spurs we need another big!

We need to cut somebody and sign a UM player as an upgrade.
