I’m not sure I get Gumbo being the first righty off the bench and replacing Larson.  It’s not like he mashes lefties and he’s also not particularly good defensively.

Right now, Monsour is the only other right-handed option who can play the outfield.

Rodriguez rifles one down the right-field line for his second double of the night. It's a RISP situation for Robbins, but the Spartans will go to the bullpen first.

I know it’s early and easy to praise a team that’s playing well tonight, but this team is better than last year’s team and I think it’s by a lot. May or may not win the league again but this team is deep and dangerous.

I guess my point was more why are they even replacing Larson there.  Might be losing something defensively and don’t really gain anything offensively.

Winter allows a leadoff single. A strikeout and a 6-4 fielder's choice make it one on with two outs and the Spartans getting ready to bring the top of the order back to the plate.

Defensively, Texas has played a much cleaner game today than at any point through the first four.

Thomas singles, but Winter gets Williams to ground out to second to end the seventh unscathed.

Two hits, but no runs with two left on for the Spartans in the seventh.

This baseball team is fun to watch.
