That is kind of stupid, don't you think? They may not like the same college team I like, but they are good people. Many are friends from High School and church, including my former pastor.

cool. But hard pass for me. I prefer to never interact with them.  They are not our friends. They would want nothing more than to destroy our school.  This goes way beyond sports. To each their own.

I didn’t think I’d need to spell it out, but this is a depth piece for 2026. Eyeing 2027 for contribution at the tackle spot.

Sources say he “wanted to win a big game at Kyle Field” and thought this was the best move for him to achieve that goal

I don’t suspect this changes the pursuit for Texas on the OL when it comes the kid from Maryland or Louisville.    It definitely won’t change anything for Jordan Seaton.

You guys think we could recruit Elko to o-line as well? He's got tremendous size.

Notes on Jonte Newman …

Saw him in HS at Bridgeland High

81-82 wingspan

9.5’ish hands

Moved to Cypress area from Mississippi

Dad played DI Hoops or football … my memory can’t remember which

Texas offered in 2023. He made a couple of unofficial visits

Brooks wanted to play only OT not guard where Texas needed him to play.

That is so short sighted.  Knowing the guard position in addition to Tackle when moved back out there would help him a ton in the draft.  By the time he would be ready for the NFL he would have been in the system a while and would have been polished.  As a result he would have been in a much better position in the draft and setting up his NFL career.  Life isn't linear.  Taking less now, or being more well rounded can often end up making you a lot more money in the end.  Who is advising these kids?

Brooks was recruited as a OT and play OT because of more money in the NFL.

I think this is a great pickup.  He does not have the same size and length as Brooks (very few OL do), but he is a much, much better lateral mover (based on HS and camp film) compared to Brooks.  We got a better and likely less expensive player.  Newman was a much lighter player in HS.  I'm interested to see how much of his weight gain is good weight and if it has impacted his movement skills at all.  It will also be interesting to see if he has the length to stick at T or needs to switch to G.  Regardless, we got a good one.

It’s why our country struggles today. Good for you to have humans that attended a different university. Heaven forbid. It’s silly and pseudo machismo especially from that one.

Flood is so good at developing tackles he decided to just have a room full of them LOL

The offense’s NASCAR package.

Curious. What were you looking to accomplish with this comment? Not understanding the point unless the staff forced you to subscribe somehow or made secret email promises.

Your first sentence is incongruous with the rest. I love you honey but you’re fat and not as pretty as the neighbor is definitely a choice. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤣

Portal season revelations continues…

I get it man. One of my best friends is a Sooner. It's funny because Red River Shootout week we don't talk. The rivalry is real. Our other friends laugh at us because we take it so serious lol.

He is not being considered for a starting spot - kid is a developmental piece

Yeah - like a guy that I remember from last year's squad.

Developmental = developmental.

Maybe OTF doesn’t care about being first…. Go follow someone else and hope it’s right lol if all you want is to know first.
