OTF nugget on Greedy James | Wednesday 11 a.m.
If the team could only afford 2 out of Jackson, Sherrard and James, the staff made the right choices. It's too bad, as James is a good player, but they can't pay everyone top dollar as Sark has said previously. Once again, another early commit winds up decommitting. Most of the decommits during the Sark era have been early commits.

Happy b-day, CJ! Safe travels.

Possible Chance Coming to MLB/College Baseball
Yep - and Grady Emerson (consensus top 2 player in next month's draft) would also be a Longhorn.

Texas dominates Alabama to stay alive at the College World Series
Big win today. This was our first CWS win in 5 years (since beating Miss St in 2021 to force a bracket deciding game).

In-state OL Jasper Ngokwere sets commitment date | Wednesday, 12:45 p.m.
I hope we stay on him. Like you wrote, his athletic upside is tremendous. I hope the staff is not pinning its hopes for a 2 OT class on Camara. He is dragging out his process and it seems like another giant wallet whip from uncle Phil and Oregon is where it will end.

Brooks Austin’s CFB HCs Hot Seat List for 2026
I like Brooks Austin, but putting Sark on that list is laughable. Texas fans remember 2010-2022 all too well.

Brandon Harris on The Program with Woj
Jeff, CJ and Marcus (and producer Matthew) played a clip of this interview on the Wednesday night livestream. I just watched the whole interview and thought it was really insightful. Sorry for the duplication if this has already been posted on the site.

OTF live: Steve Sarkisian at TD Club of Houston
Tyrone Swoopes on the 247 board?

Spurs HC Mitch Johnson...
I went to that game but never made the connection. I only remembered the Lopez twins from that Stanford team.

Hispanic Titanic
I saw him 3 different times when he played in AA for Amarillo after he crushed it in A and A+. He was not in the same shape he was in at Texas, but that happens to most bigger ball players as they get older. At AA, the quality of pitching - especially breaking balls and change ups- reaches a different level. He had a lot of bad Ks when I saw him play. A lot of hitters that can crush a good fastball flame out in the upper minors for the same reason. I hope he gets another shot. He was a phenomenal player for us.

Another intriguing new 2027 offer | Tuesday PM
Interesting. Good size (215 lbs per 247) and solid speed combo. He's run 11.2 in the 100 and 22.7 in the 200 this spring, so not ideal for a WR, but could make for a solid safety or LB prospect.

OTF: A target will be off the board soon
Between Hiller and Miller, Florida is making some significant NIL/rev share commitments to OL.

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
My guess is that OSU was also willing to pay more than we were for Klare.

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
Yes they will. Manny was CB15 (!) in this draft. He should have been no lower than CB7 or CB8 (if you roll the dice on McCoy, who is a stud recovering from an ACL tear). When you look at all the guys picked above him that should not have been (Igbinosun, Davis, Everette, Neal, Husky, and Moore), they are all taller and bigger than he is. He got dinged for being 6', 182 lbs. Keionte Scott went right before Manny for the same reasons (5'11" slot corner).

NFL Draft Live Thread | Round 7
Trey Moore to the Dolphins! He really improved his draft stock during the process. Good pass rushers get drafted - even ones played out of position their last year.

Manny to the Bears! Great pick.

Don’t understand the Devin Moore pick for the Cowboys when Manny was still on the board. Manny is a much better CB.

New motion filed as it pertains to NIL deals procured through Learfield
Is the House settlement and its clearinghouse even relevant at this point? Several schools never agreed to the settlement and likely never will. That’s why we are heading to more and more of a world of the have and have nots. Change is coming in 2030-31 when the TV contracts expire, because the current model is unsustainable to most of the power conference schools (mostly outside the SEC).

Florida to lose Golden?
Not sure I would take that job if I were him. The Warriors are likely heading into a total rebuild with an owner and a fan base that are used to winning at the highest level.

Florida to lose Golden?
Think he meant HC instead of HS. Golden was the head coach at University of San Francisco before taking the Florida job.

Depth chart snapshot at the end of Texas spring practice
He was committed to Minnesota as a LB, and I think he was committed to UCF prior to that as a TE. Yes, he is at TE for us.

Questions answered, unanswered after Texas' last spring practice
Great update. I have faith that our starting OL will be much improved over our OL for much of last year. Our OL at the end of last year was pretty solid, so we'll see if there are significant improvements over that group. It's great to see positive notes on McCutcheon after all of the attention (rightfully so) on C. Coleman and Bishop this spring.

John Turntine III note (Mon. 12pm CT)
If he has a good year, he might go to the NFL next year.

John Turntine III note (Mon. 12pm CT)
Correct - Siani is a redshirt junior this year.

Anthony Hill visiting with the Cowboys ahead of the draft
He would be a great fit for what the Cowboys need at LB. They might be able to trade down somewhat (from either 12 or 20), get an extra day two pick and still get him.
