Terrifying? Little dramatic aren’t you?

I mean I think he has a valid point to extent. At this moment the two IOL spots are terrifying. The Oregon St transfer is not a P4 player at this point (he needs to develop if he’s your starter next year that’s not great) and Chatman has he even played a legit meaningful snap? I think the staff will grab more guys at the line but right now it’s Great-terrible-very good-terrible-very good.

The concern is what 2027 looks like. But that’s a full portal cycle and year of development away. So not even worth worrying over.

Texas will continue to recruit the Kelvin Banks’ of the HS world.

Good take, CJ.  The landscape has changed immensely.  IMHO, it's lazy to blame Flood for the loss of Brooks (he can be blamed for other things).  The likelihood he has been recruited behind the scenes

How’s Jackson Christian progressing and the Coleman bros?

The thing is Texas is not alone. Hopefully, the defense plays, well. We have three starters and key positions. We will be fine.

A lot major college programs will face the issues. Just, need a core of players. The 65 man roster looking more and likely.

Here’s where things sit without listing freshman or adding anyone else in the portal.

LT - Goosby (Jr)
LG - Sikorski (So)
C - C.Robertson (Sr)
RG - Chatman (Jr)
RT - Baker (Jr) or Cojoe (Knee / Jr)

Terrifying

It’s certainly not done yet, but also not terrifying even if it was.

Assuming no more additions, which will not be happening:

LT - Goosby (Jr)/ Baker (Jr)/ Turntine (Fr)/
LG - Chatman (Jr) or Baker (So)/ Christian (rFr)
C - C.Robertson (Sr)/ Christian (rFr)/ Coleman 2 (rFr)
RG - Sikorski (So)/ Coleman 2 (rFr)/ N.Robertson (Fr)
RT - Baker (Jr) or Cojoe (Jr)/ Coleman 1 (rFr)

The starters would probably be comparable to how our OL finished the year.

Goosby, Baker and Robertson will be better. Chatman is probably pretty close to Hutson and certainly better than the other LGs. Sikorski is probably a step back from Campbell, but not too far back. Campbell was solid, but not great, IMO.

All that said, we’re getting more guys and hopefully Seaton at RT so we’re gonna be better than good. 🤘🏼

It’s not just on the OL though right?

*if no one else jumped on board* and

If everyone were to stay mostly healthy, *knock on all the wood*

Then following yr offense, we will be new at QB, RB, probably 2 WRs if not 3, 3 or 4 or whole  OL, nick Townsend going to be lonely

and on D….new CB, at least 1 safety, at least 2 LBs, DT looks ok, losing Simmons will be huge, but DE in a better spot than most positions

They will be better in '27 when they are expected to be ready.

No sense to recruit high school OL unless they can start immediately.   We lost 2 potential starters for next year and lost our only back up center.

Not sure how many Cam Colemans and Hollywood Smothers have to occur before people stop with the 'Sky is Falling' panic.

Here is my weekly reminder to the pant-pissers:  We will be fine.  Take a lap.

FIFY.  We pay the athletic department a lot of money to get these kind of things correct.  They are.

Donovan Haslam from West Virginia he is a plug and play right guard graded as a top 3 player over last half of the season. He's also and awesome power run blocker an upgrade over DJ Campbell

Se havent gotten right vs UGA and Ohio St yet....

Makes me wonder how bad the assessment and development of our OL has been given none were ready to fill the void and the staff didn’t apparently choose to retain them.

I'd Be shocked if Sikorski is starting... I think he was a depth piece /add, more so for 2027.

Agree. The exercise was a depth chart without any further additions. 🤘🏼

I disagree. There remains value.

Goosby’s of the world are the prime example of coming in and developing into a starter-ready guy
