Or a shirt - “Nobody catches the ball on my side of the field.  Not even me.”

Not only one of my favorite Longhorns, but also my son's (he was about 15 at the time of that quote).  That quote was a home run at the cochamps household.  😄

What’s Up OTF fam!

Happy New Year and what a start to it. When I heard about everything that was happening on the site I had to jump on and join the conversation.

First, I just wanted to offer a warm welcome to the newest members of OTF and show my sincere appreciation for all the OTF OGs who have have helped build this community, for which I'm very grateful.

Second, I played on some really good teams at Texas, so I know how it feels to be on a good team and OTF has assembled a great one. Also, as of today none of our guys have any plans to enter the portal.

Third, one of my New Year's resolutions is to participate and post more on the site so this is just the first of many. I know alot of you all from the chats on youtube but I can't wait to further the discourse on OTF.com. Sorry, no hot takes, stats or breaking news on this first post, just wanted to say thanks to you all. Stay tuned...

Hook Em Horns!

The Legendary Rod B. 🤘🏾

Pretty impressive to knock out one of your New Year’s resolutions so early in the year.  You’ve already participated more this year than last year. Mission Accomplished!

I enjoy your football knowledge now Rod and I especially enjoyed watching you compete your guts out for our longhorns in your playing days!    A True Lifetime Longhorn, which are few and far between now.

Thank you Rod B for all your knowledge and research. Like listen to you breakdown all the stats and cheat codes, listen to you on the radio about 4 years ago l. When i was Austin big fan of your knowledge and excitement to inform us.

There’s so many Rod Babersisms that I’ve stolen in football conversation. Whether you invented it or not, I use the term positionless football all the time. 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Rod B! It’s awesome having you as a part of the OTF team!  I loved listening to your radio shows and now on the OTF podcasts.  You always have great insights, perspectives, and analysis! Happy New Year!

Rod B's Strategy for More Participation:

  1. Check in from the toilet a couple of times per day.
  2. Take a Waymo and post along the way.
  3. Family dinners are a nice time to scroll and post a bit.

This should get you started in the right direction.

Proud to keep the legacy of Longhorn Blitz alive alongside the only member of the full-time OTF staff with a licensed NFL rookie card!

I wish people knew and/or could see how much Rod works on his craft to give the masses the best possible information. He’s the real deal as a friend/teammate/colleague.

I met Rod at the pre meet at the last spring game. Hes the same on and of the screen. Hes Stuart Scott level cool

@Rod Babers you were one of my favorite players.  Your insights as a Longhorn legend and professional player add much to the discussions. I also appreciate your casual and down-to-earth commentary and the joy you bring to the process. Keep shining.

@Rod Babers I have been a fan of yours since the Longhorn Blitz days. I always enjoyed hearing you and @Jeff Howe talk football on that show which is why I joined the OTF community. You completely changed how I watch football and started getting me to think like a football theorist. #21 in your programs, #1 in your hearts.
