  1. Tech seems to have principles only when it doesn’t cost them anything. They just voted for tough rules against gambling by players in November. Fast forward 6 months and those principles are gone because it could cost them a player. https://www.si.com/college-football/brendan-sorsby-case-challenges-ncaa-gambling-rules-texas-tech-once-backed#:~:text=That's more information than the,has admitted to doing so.
  2. I’m sure you will hit this at the SEC media days, but the governance issue of College Football, the CSC rejection of many “NIL” deals, and the legislation in Washington is starting to bubble up.
  3. I don’t see how he plays for Tech with the Iowa State precedent.
  4. The supplemental draft might be an option.
  5. I’m sure there is some sort of morals/suspension clause.
  6. I think an interesting question is how many teams on our schedule have the capability of beating us. I think that number is 5. We won’t lose that many of course, but I think it does explain why our win total is only 9.5.
  7. To be fair, I never thought his small lacrosse career should have counted as a year of playing college sports.
  8. This is 100% a ploy to allow Texas Tech get the same media payout as Alabama, when Alabama generates 4 times the viewership. And if the media payout is going to be equal for every school then why should football and basketball be the main recipients of revenue sharing? I’m sure that isn’t something Campbell wants to change. The justification now is because they generate the media revenue. Well…. Don’t the conferences that generate the most in media revenue deserve more of the pie?
  9. Some of y’all are overestimating the floor if he were to choose baseball. Unless you’re a top 10 pick you have about a 15% chance of having a 3-year plus career even if you make it into the first round. His floor in baseball is probably his signing bonus. In football it’s probably $10-15m. With his talent baseball is the bigger gamble.
  10. Let’s see how much playing time he gets. He has a great chance to be in the top 4 rotation and maybe he wins a starting job. That room is talented. I think Phillips is the only sure starter.
  11. I think if he was confident Sark stays after next year we would be higher.
  12. Terry could be the big back next season.
  13. I hope we get Seaton, but I wonder if he goes somewhere else that he knows he will start at LT for similar money.
  14. Great topic. Does J.T. Sanders start and breakout in 2023? I bet the answer is likely not.
  15. If you make Alabama play basketball, they struggle. Let them run and they can overwhelm you.
