Per you guys request, we are starting a mods only transfer portal update thread.

 

Wyoming transfer center Luke Sandy is on campus in Austin for a visit.

Not a lock Texas makes an NIL offer, however. 

Roster Retention News:

Ty’Anthony Smith will be returning to Texas next season. The junior from Jasper had a breakthrough campaign in 2025, capping it off with two interceptions in the Citrus Bowl.

Arch Manning is expected to accompany Cam Coleman tonight at dinner.

Louisville stall tactics worked here. Still waiting for Isaac Brown to officially enter the portal.

 

Several parents are sitting in a reserved section at the Texas Basketball game tonight. 

Players should file in soon. 

I'm told some, but not all, of the portal visitors made it to the basketball game. I've spotted Chris Jackson in the arena, but he's the only Texas coach I've seen so far.

FYI - Trevor Goosby and Ty'Anthony Smith have signed for the 2026 season with the Horns.

However, Goosby has not officially made a decision between Texas and the NFL Draft.

I find it hard to believe Goosby would negotiate and sign an NIL deal and not return to Texas. But that option is on the table.

Things are moving in the right direction with Justus Terry returning for year two, per a source tonight. 

OTF believes the freshman from the Peach State wants to return to Texas.

Like others, we will wait for an official announcement by the player.

As of right now, I believe we got the name wrong of the Wyoming player who visited Texas yesterday. I do not believe there were two Wyoming OLs on campus. 

Hank South of 247Sports has reported that Kenny Owozulu, a defensive end from UTSA, is expected to visit Texas later today.

We can confirm that report.

27 punts in 2025, had an average of 44.0, a long of 56 and 13 inside the 20.

Need to clarify something:

Yesterday, we misidentified Wyoming OL Wes King as Wyoming OL Luke Sandy. Only one Wyoming OL visited yesterday and that was King. We apologize for our confusion.

King is not expected to be a priority for the Longhorns in this portal season, at least not at this time.

Florida State DB Edwin Joseph, who visited Texas on Saturday, is at Texas A&M today.

Some thoughts...

- I like where Texas sits overall right now.

- I think any suppositions on Cam Coleman or Jayden Woods are going to be misguided and/or premature. They'll both take multiple visits and go from there.

- I think it's a positive sign that Arkansas DL Ian Geffrard came back a second day on his visit.

- I think the two starting Michigan OLs - Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarena - would be excellent additions.

- Texas seems to be attempting to shore up its kicking game in one weekend. Both Gianni Spetic, a kicker from Memphis, and Mac Chiumento, a punter from Florida State, are on campus currently.

- I will be surprised if Wyoming OL Wes King ends up a Longhorn.

- UTSA DL Kenny Owozalu is expected to visit today. We're monitoring that. There could be another DL who visits this week depending on that outcome.

- There are several players who have announced their intentions to enter the portal but who have not been officially entered yet.

Some schools utilize a 48-hour (or two business days rule) that allows a team to delay signing their player into the portal.

While some might take that as a bad sign, it's not uncommon. It's also not a tactic Texas was unaware of prior to this weekend.

OnTexasFootball fully expects Texas to considering bringing in LSU transfer NG Zion Williams for a visit.

The 6-foot-4, 350 pounder would be a developmental over the ball player.

Should Texas make a move on him, it would not affect Texas pursuit of Arkansas transfer Ian Geffrard or redshirt freshman Josiah Sharma.

In Will Muschamp’s defense, the size and depth over the ball is a requirement. 

Arkansas DL transfer Ian Geffrard has committed to Texas. Geffrard, originally from Mableton, Ga., started for the Razorbacks this season. He is 6-foot-5, 380 pounds and is considered an over-the-ball defensive tackle.

He is officially Will Muschamp’s first recruit on defense. 

It sounds like Texas has put itself in a good position with Florida EDGE Jayden Woods. I’m told Woods’ top options currently appear to be either Texas or Oregon if he transfers or a return to Florida (the Gators aren’t giving up).

Tight end Michael Masunas, 6-5, 260, from Michigan State is expected to visit Texas today, OTF can confirm.

Masunas had 19 receptions for 332 yards and three TDs in 2025.

He is a redshirt junior who is primarily known as an inline blocker. Of the 391 snaps he played this past season, only five came from the slot and five came from out wide in the passing game. He started eight of 12 games for the Spartans.
