The question is why didn't Texas do the same?

I don't understand it either. Bobby always talks about revenue sharing and NIL where it hinders Texas, but teams like Tech don't have any issues. Texas doesn't have rich donors?

The reporting suggests that Texas BMDs remain squeamish about paying players. They want their names on buildings and love to ride the wave of Texas football success, but they have not fully adjusted to the new NIL reality. Until that changes, it will be hard to keep up with Oregon and Tech.

This is not true at all. Texas will be fine 🙂

I always get the sense that some schools are waiting for a response from the NCAA, all schools have to follow, that will make it even. I don’t think it will ever come. The house committee meetings were pointless. Anything the NCAA comes up with is likely going to be challenged in the courts and they will lose. It needs to be solved legally at the highest court. Until that happens it will stay this way.

Texas is lucky to have donors of all types.

Because we’re not Texas Tech.

I mean Campbell said it himself “this was their opportunity” and they jumped all in compared to us feeling like we didn’t need to take that exact same approach cause we had felt what winning felt like…. They hadn’t, until this opportunity gave them the chance to buy it. Legally lol

Because we are pansies.

Texas was nowhere near as brazen.

So, Bobby would you say it was legal, illegal, underhanded or just shameless? Seems like Campbell is fairly proud of himself. Apparently, NIL didn't have limits in 2025.

Does “brazen” equal “timid”?

Then that’s on us. We either want it and say F everyone or we are ok with 9-3/10-2.

There is no shame in winning. I agree, they have more losses with out schedule but they are doing what they need to, we are not yet. Let’s see if we do in the next 60 days.

We just missed the window where McCombs and Jamail would have been our “NIL Billionaires.” Mack would have won 7 natties with those dudes being able to buy rosters.

Their lawyers said "sue us". Our lawyers said "it depends". I agree with their lawyers BTW.

College sports has a ways to go through the courts/congress. Take advantage while you can.

Texas has the most expensive roster this year. We chose to invest in high school WRs that rode the bench rather than IOL

Tell the BMD to adapt or start losing.
