Kansas State opts out of bowl game

Featured Replies

That's a messed up locker room if they voted not to play another game.

Props to them.  Have always thought if you only have 6 wins, take a pass.......

What's worse is the star players opting out of a bowl game.  The game seems hardly worth watching since you're not truly seeing the actual team.

That’s why bowl games don’t matter anymore. I can see it from both ends. If you’re going to the NFL why risk injury in what’s basically an exhibition game.

Klein is coaching the Aggie offense while putting together a coaching staff. The extra practices would be pretty hard to see. Building a rostwr may be more important than a meaningless bowl game.

I actually think Willis McGahee changed everything about future pros playing in meaningless bowl games.

We should opt out as well unless we can play ND or Miami.

#13 should be playing #11 or #12. #13 playing #19 is extra meaningless

Time to end bowl games, I used to watch all of them playoffs ended that. Texas should also opt out, its’s meaningless game.

The only reason I hope we don’t opt out is bc it would mean somethin to get that 10th win for the 3rd straight season. 10-3 is a lot better than 9-4 (or 9-3)

I would assume it has more to do with a coaching transition and letting current players figure out where they want to be next semester than the team looking down their nose at a lower-tier bowl game.

The group hurt the most by this are K-State’s seniors, some of whom I’m sure wanted to put their pads on one last time.

As a fan, I love bowl games. I watch every one of them that I can. I love college football. Before you know it, it will be April, and I’ll be watching reruns of Toledo Techs spring game. It all means something to me.

For the additional practices alone, it makes sense to play a bowl game

Totally

Well, more importantly like stated above, it’s like another spring of practices to teach a young team and fix problems going into a new year.

I'm with you.
