If that is truly our portal budget in an "all in" year then that is incredibly low given how many needs we have.

NIL cap, how much you think we're spending then?

  • You have my attention. Harkless recorded 3 sacks this season at 6-3, 345.  10 pressures from up the middle would have been tied for 2nd on this year's Texas DL.

  • There are some very firm prerequisites I would have for Texas in regards to portal targets this year: 1. Coming off of season-ending injury? Crossed off the list. 2. I want a seamless positi

  • My thing with A&M flirting with high dollar WR is pretty simple.  Until they get a quarterback that’s able to consistently complete 10 yard passes, none of their moves mean anything to me.

Not a dig at you but I’ll believe it when OTF confirms it

Good god no. WR is the one position I have strong feelings towards.

Incorrect opinions, but strong, nonetheless.

I know its silly to say, "forget about the money," but Texas just needs to figure out how to make it happen. We continuously hear they are the richest athletic department in the country. They should leave absolutely nothing up for debate this season. If guys just don't want to come here, fine, but give the best offers to the Cam Colemans, Ryan Williams, and Jayden Baughs of the world.

They won’t because they aren’t willing to go outside of the rules to make it happen.

It’s called a budget for a reason. We have players that need to be retained as well.

There is no NIL cap.

We lost our top 3 RBs, lost multiple starters on defense, and lack a serviceable IOL…but people want us to immediately blow the bank on a WR when all the starters except Moore are returning💀

Is that true?

Yea and I can’t believe people still conflate revenue share cap with NIL.

Hope we flex it. Like I mentioned before, we have one natty in 50 years. CDC hasn’t won a Big 3 natty. We will see how aggressive we are.

My biggest worry is that 2026 WR room = 2025 OL Room

“We don’t need to get portal OL. We have other needs and lots of solid players”

That is true. You keep hearing about this "NIL Cap" with no proof of its existence or what the cap is.

Well we had lost the majority of our OL production and brought 0 players out of the portal. Reps at OL is also probably more important at any position other than QB. At WR we’re only losing Moore so far. I do think Texas still needs to get a productive WR but it’s probably #4 on the list of priorities.

By the way On3 reports about Texas "being in it" just states that Coleman wants to go to a team with a proven QB/returning QB...
