Majors has been active and participating in team drills despite being held out of the Longhorns second scrimmage of the fall on Saturday with an ankle sprain. Texas signees playing in the Navy and Under Armour All-America Games Nine members of the Texas Longhorns No. 1 ranked recruiting class are on the rosters for the All-American Games being played in the tqwo and half weeks. Up first will be the Under Armour Next All-America Game in Orlando with practices at Disney Wide World of Sports with the game televised on ESPN with five Texas signees on the roster. A week after will be the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio with four members of the class taking part. Yesterday, these players were mentioned by coaches, in a unique way: Jaylon Guilbeau - Pete Kwiatkowski was asked point blank to name a possible surprise on his defense in 2024. The first name off his lips was Guilbeau, who is expected to challenge for playing time at the Star position. Gavin Holmes - PK eventually added Holmes to the list of possible surprises in 2024. At the end of the day, a win is a win. *** Texas and Kentucky will kickoff and begin the seventh SEC matchup of the season. Interesting start for the Longhorns, who lose a yard on the first two snaps, but that’s a great throw, in rhythm for Ewers on third down to move the chains. This week it’s been back and forth some with Bert Auburn and Will Stone. The two kickers have been vying for the starting spot against Ohio State. Auburn, yesterday, seemed to get the upper hand. He made all the kicks with the 1s and 2s. We expect him to be the starter over Stone in the Cotton Bowl. Auburn beat out Stone twice before for the job. It looks like he’s done it once again, even though he’s been just 6 of 14 this season beyond 40 yards. I’m not shocked by this development. Texas visits Sunshine State WR committed to Oregon Per a source at Tampa Tech High, Texas assistant coach Jeff Banks was by the Southwest Florida school for multiple hours to watch Oregon 5-star wide receiver commit Dallas Wilson. Wilson, 6-3 and 180, committed to Oregon January 17 over Miami and Florida. He has official visits scheduled to Miami June 7-9, Florida June 14-16 and Oregon June 21-23. The football gods smiled on Longhorn fans yesterday (and very early this morning!). Oklahoma and Texas A&M both lost their games with less than 10 seconds left on the clock. FSU commit to officially visit Texas November 1 The Texas Longhorns offered Florida State linebacker commitment Karon Maycock (Miami, Fla./Central) Thursday night. And an official visit has already been set. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker told OnTexasFootball that he has scheduled his OV to Texas for next weekend.
