The president of the United States issued an executive order yesterday regarding the future of college sports. The main tenets included eliminating pay-for-play schemes, the future of student employment, Title IX guidance, saving non-revenue sports, and reducing long-term liability of the institutions. The No. 2 ranked Longhorns are 13-0 heading into today’s matchup at South Dakota State. While they’ve had no trouble beating five Top 25 opponents (with the majority being in the Top 15) during that time, one thing that has been an issue is the health of the team. John Meredith III Update Wanted to bring the OTF community the latest on 5-star cornerback John Meredith III (Fort Worth/North Crowley) following his visit to Texas late last week. Following the official visit, Texas moved into the pole position immediately for Tampa, Fla., cornerback Graceson Littleton. Littleton told coaches and players alike on the visit that Texas felt like the place he wanted to be. New Texas DB Coaches in Contact with 2026 ATH Jalen Lott Quick little trip over to McKinney North for a Friday afternoon track meet while up in DFW this weekend. With the news today that the NCAA is pushing forward a vote for the 5-seasons-to-play-5-years rule, I wanted to check in with a source at Texas about what that means for the two players it could effect for the Horns, transfer OL Laurence Seymore and LB Darius Snow. It is the current belief that neither Seymore nor Snow would be effected by the ruling because they have already been approved by the NCAA for the additional year.
