Just as the offensive line seemed to gel against Oklahoma, starting center Cole Hutson has now been labeled as “out” for the Kentucky game by Coach Steve Sarkisian. The exact injury has not been revealed but Hutson sustained it during Tuesday’s practice. It is not expected to be season-ending, but he “will miss some time”. ** Back-up Connor Robertson is expected to take over for Hutson at center with Nick Brooks remaining at left guard. Bo Ogden shines in the Iverson Classic Saturday night Texas top 50 ranked signee Bo Ogden shined Saturday night in the 10th annual Allen Iverson Classic in Hampton, Va. The 6-foot-6 guard/wing scored 14 points in 21 minutes for the winning Team Loyalty (142-138) squad, but his impact went way beyond points scored. A couple of nuggets ranging from 2025 official visitors to 2026 commit. *** First and foremost, one of the largest (literal) weekend official visitors is 2025 Lewisville OL Michael Fasusi. The five-star offensive lineman is coming off an official visit at Oklahoma where he received the Sooners' equivalent of the red carpet treatment. Fasusi and OL coach Bill Bedenbaugh have a strong relationship with one another and the history of OL development has been a talking point throughout his recruitment. Texas is currently at 12 commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. In the next 14 days, we could theoretically see that number almost double. But I suspect it’s more likely we see the Longhorns add approximately 7-to-8 new pledges in that time frame. Some takeaways from the scrimmage based on additional discussions/text messages I’ve had: - Silas Bolden has been the most consistent playmaker at receiver and on the offense generally during fall camp. - Matthew Golden had a good scrimmage on Saturday. - Based on Saturday’s scrimmage, it’s still somewhat unclear how exactly Texas will line up if Jake Majors were to go down with injury at any point this season. Texas Softball Advance to Super Regionals *** Mike White and Texas Softball are moving onto the Super Regionals of the NCAA Tournament. A 7–0 victory over Baylor secured the regional round victory for the No. 2 ranked Horns on Sunday. Teagan Kavan was superb in the circle, allowing just three hits, one of which to the leadoff hitter for the Bears in the 1st inning.
