Texas RB CJ Baxter is set to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal when it opens January 2nd. ESPN's Pete Thamel was the first to break the news that the Texas running back will opt out of the bowl game and enter the portal when it opens on January 2nd. I can add this had been a growing possibility since the Kentucky game in Moncrief. In SEC play, Baxter attempted 30 rushing attempts for just 85 yards. A Texas special teams analyst will be moving on to a coordinator role according to a report by Football Scoop. Analyst Jeff Crosby has accepted the App State special teams coordinator position according to the report. Crosby had been a member of the Texas staff since 2021 when Texas hired Steve Sarkisian. Formerly, Crosby spent time with Southern Miss and Washington. The Longhorns will be experiencing all sorts of turnover in the special teams room next year. Texas Prioritizing Recovery During Bye Week *** Texas is just about through with their bye week's worth of practice. And I should use the term practice very loosely.
