According to sources, Texas wide receiver DeAndre Moore has told Texas staffers that he intends to enter his name into the NFL Draft. Moore will miss the Citrus Bowl because of a lingering toe issue that has had him in a boot for the last two weeks. Moore, a junior, has an additional year of college eligibility but has told Texas that he intends to enter the draft. He caught 38 passes this season for 532 yards and four touchdowns. In 2024, he totaled 39 catches and seven TDs. Texas expects receivers Ryan Wingo, Emmett Mosley V and Parker Livingstone to return in 2026. View full news story

Running back to know in 2027 Two running backs in Texas in have taken up the vast majority of oxygen thus far - Landen Williams-Callis of Richmond Randall and SaRod Baker of DeSoto. I watched Chris Del Conte’s Town Hall last night. First and foremost, there were no “gotchas”. There was no extremely bad news or news that fundamentally changed the outlook of the athletic department. I listened intently. There wasn’t even an inkling of a department weaving slightly off course. Instead, he discussed the progress of initiatives already well underway (like the football indoor facility) and gave a sneak peek into plans for the future (a re-imagined softball stadium). Texas finished its ninth practice of the spring last night. It was a scrimmage setting with dozens of current high school coaches on hand because of the coaching clinic Texas is hosting. Some notes: - While Colin Simmons is clearly the team’s top edge defender, two other defensive ends were singled out for their play yesterday-Lance Jackson and Colton Vasek. Some folks have asked multiple times about Mark Stoops and when he might be joining the Texas staff. In speaking with someone close to Stoops over the weekend, we are told the plan is for Stoops to join the staff officially sometime directly following the spring game. Stoops’ role is expected to be largely advisory. It was noted loosely the last day or so, but wanted to make it a full post. I have it on good authority WR Emmett Mosley V is back on the practice field for the Longhorns. Mosley is expected to be a participant in all routes on air and a limited participant in 1v1’s and team drills. Arch Manning will get the final week of spring ball to throw to Mosley, Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman on the same offense. Another quarterback will be joining the Longhorns for the summer months. 2025 McCallum QB Luke Dunham has been offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Longhorns and has accepted. The offer came late Friday night and Dunham confirmed with OTF he would be accepting the PWO and joining the team after graduation. As a senior, Dunham started 9 games at McCallum, throwing for 2635 yards and 28 TD. He also added 678 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in those games as well. View full news story
