Breaking Down Nuggets from Saturday's Practice Practice No. 9 is in the books for the Longhorns. There was a live portion of practice which featured multiple live possessions for the first, second and third teams. Notes on new 2026 OL offer Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood was in Pennsylvania and New Jersey Monday. Prior to seeing 4-star++ EDGE target Luke Wafle (Princeton, N.J./Hun School), Flood stopped by La Salle College High in Philadelphia to take a look at fast rising 2026 offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh (Glenside, Pa./La Salle College High). The 6-foot-7.25, 280-pound offensive tackle sported 15 offers prior to Flood's visit. Now he has 16 after Texas extended an offer. Quarterback is where we’ll begin our notes and observations from the first Texas spring practice on Tuesday morning at Denius Fields. On Texas Football was on hand for a media viewing window, getting our first look at coach Steve Sarkisian’s 2025 squad. Trey Owens and KJ Lacey worked behind Arch Manning in drills. A Texas Longhorns target has made a change to a visit date. Port Charlotte (Fla.) High 4-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has changed his official visit date to June 7-9 from the 14-16th which was originally scheduled. The Longhorns were behind the push to get the Sunshine State defensive tackle on campus this weekend. A few nuggets from today's practice that I have been able to gather today. *** First and foremost, On Texas Football has been vocal about the Parker Livingstone noise leading up to the spring and that build up is absolutely paying off so far through the first week of spring ball. I was told Livingstone found the end zone a handful of times on Thursday and was "really damn good" again on Saturday. I have mentioned the pen to pencil ratio in terms of cracking the starting lineup – If Ryan Wingo is in sharpie, Livingstone is right behind him in ballpoint pen. Updates on the 2026 Class *** Five-star Texas OT commit John Turntine III lived up to the ranking in his scrimmage on Thursday against Allen. In pass protection specifically, Turntine was nails. Afterwards, Turntine told me that he is entering his senior season around 270 pounds with hopes to get up to about 280-285 by the time he enrolls at Texas in January for the spring semester. This truly has been one of my favorite game previews. Texas has played in several big games since I started covering the program, none have been against the defending National Champions. There also have been fewer programs that have seen as much turnover as Michigan on a year to year basis, especially after seeing how much success they had a year ago. I spent most of Wednesday’s practice window open to the media with the offensive line. Even during a training camp in which Kyle Flood is trying to replace four departed starters, the group looked so focused, hungry and in tune with the flow of practice that you’d never know such turnover existed. It goes without saying, but the trip to Dallas was big. Texas continues to dominate its biggest rival on the field with its third win in four seasons – all of which preventing Oklahoma from reaching the end zone. But larger than that, the Longhorns keep their season alive with the victory in Dallas.
