Sources tell On Texas Football that the real roster NIL number for Texas in 2026 is somewhere between $35-$36mm. So many have prognosticated that the figure would reach well in to the $40 millions. Texas hosted approximately 100 high school underclassmen at their Elite Camp yesterday. About 20 of them walked away with a scholarship offer. We’ve compiled a complete list that we’ll be publishing in an hour or so for those interested. According to Dr. Brett Wilkinson, the University of Texas has won its third Directors Cup in the last four years. Stanford needed to dramatically outscore the Longhorns in women’s track and field today to overtake Texas. But that did not occur. Texas athletics is headed by athletic director Chris Del Conte. Del Conte took the reins in Austin 2017. Under his stewardship the Longhorns have become the nation’s premier college athletic program. The final day for the baseball portal window was Tuesday evening. Of course, this caps entries to the portal as players across the country look to find their new home. A few things here. Texas has added some important arms for the 2025 roster. They have done a fine job of using this portal window to bolster what was a pretty lackluster pitching staff in 2024. Hook ‘Em! Texas is back on the board with its third commitment of the month of July with the verbal pledge from 2025 North Crowley LB Jonathan Cunningham. The Longhorns beat out TCU and Utah for the 6-foot-2 linebacker. After offering back in February, the Longhorns quickly ascended to the top of Cunningham’s recruitment. TCU and the Utes made this very close towards the end, however, Texas and Johnny Nansen came away victorious. A few notes from late summer offseason workouts ahead of fall camp beginning next week. *** – I was able to get a look at Alfred Collins walking into the facility on Thursday afternoon. The recent Texas roster update has Collins listed at 320 pounds and let me tell you, even after being listed at 315 a year ago, his body looks significantly different. Texas is back on the board! The Longhorns land a commitment from elite 2025 WR Kaliq Lockett (Sachse, TX) over Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida State and LSU. The 6-foot-2-inch wide receiver becomes the first wide receiver in the 2025 class and continues the trend of Texas having success in the DFW area.
