  1. Big Opportunities for 2027 Recruiting with Final Home Games *** It has been a difficult season to host recruits for the Longhorns this season, the schedule just was not very favorable in regards to hosting opportunities. Only six true home games in 2025, included three cupcakes at the beginning of the year where you had to battle the Texas heat. A hosting opportunity against top ten Vanderbilt, and now the two final games at the end of the season where going head to head with state playoffs is key, plus one of the largest holidays in the United States. Also, having a full month away from home in the middle of the season certainly did not help the case eithe…

  2. Started by Bobby Burton,

Texas may be without two of its best players on Saturday for the game against Arkansas. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said yesterday that both linebacker Anthony Hill and receiver Ryan Wingo are being evaluated for hand injuries. Both were still being evaluated as of Sark’s press conference yesterday. ** Arkansas was trying to hire former Penn State coach James Franklin to replace Sam Pittman. But Franklin chose Virginia Tech instead. In the new world of college football, Franklin chose the job he felt like could be a more winnable long-term situation. There may be no more tougher positioned job in Power 4 college football right now than Arkans…

  5. BOOM!!!: 5-star Austin Goosby commits to Texas Texas' top target in the 2026 class committed to the Texas Longhorns Monday. Austin Goosby had been a Texas lean over BYU for weeks, and on Monday the 6-foot-5 combo guard committed to longtime favorite Texas. And he did so on his birthday, and Sean Miller's birthday. The younger brother of Texas starting left tackle Trevor Goosby becomes the fourth commitment in the class, and is ranked among the top 30 prospects in the 2026 cycle. Goosby is a true combo guard with a 6-9 wingspan that has en elite combination of height, length, vertical pop, ball handling and court vision, the understanding of how to effec…

  6. Update on LB Anthony Hill Jr. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke on linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and his status following a report earlier Monday morning that Hill suffered a broken bone in his hand during the loss to Georgia. "With both (Anthony Hill Jr.) and Ryan (Wingo), we're just we're making sure that they're going to be okay," Sarkisian said. "I'm not ready to make that diagnosis on where they're going to be yet, but I feel optimistic." Hill recorded an interception in the loss to Georgia and played 62 of the 66 possible snaps against the Bulldogs. The SEC injury report will release Wednesday evening ahead of the Arkansas meeting on Saturday…

  8. Sean Miller Press Conference Availability Texas men's basketball head coach Sean Miller will speak with the Texas media on Monday. The Longhorns are back in action on Tuesday against Rider at the Moody Center. Tip off will be at 8:00 p.m. Over the weekend, the Longhorns won a 71–55 contest over Kansas City, a game that probably would classify as the sloppiest of the season. Fortunately, Sean Miller and his squad came away with a double-digit victory and move towards having plenty of room remaining to fix some key points before the Maui Inviational. View full news story

  9. Most important coaching week for Sark since November of 2021 After an awful fourth quarter and yet another loss to Georgia, Steve Sarkisian now faces his toughest coaching task since November of 2021. Not just his toughest, but easily most important. While that may seem extreme because it was year one, this is a true "culture" test and will be very telling about the future of the program under Sarkisian. Texas lost 30-7 in Ames to Iowa State November 6, and followed up by surrendering 57 points at home to Kansas. There were three other losses wrapped around those two games, but it was Iowa State and Kansas that showed a truly broken culture in the Texas program…

The 6-foot-5 combo guard with a 6-9 wingspan has en elite combination of Height, length, vertical pop, ball handling and court vision, the understanding of how to effectively turn the corner and get downhill, touch finishing over taller defenders and overall feel for the ga…

  12. Started by Bobby Burton,

I’m reading a lot of comments on the message board about how Texas was “out-physicaled” by Georgia. I agree with that. But only to a degree. The Texas defense was not. The Texas offense was. But let’s not act like this is some new revelation about the Texas offense. Nor is it a new concept to teams who play Georgia. 1. Texas hasn’t run the ball well all year. 2. Georgia has been the more physical team in every game they have played this season. ** re: issues with Texas running the ball It started early in the year and has carried through all season. At first, we thought it might be a new offensive line needing to gel. Then perh…

  13. Started by Bobby Burton,

Tip your cap. And move on. That’s my best advice to a Texas team who was clearly beaten by a superior Georgia squad. Yet there are valuable takeaways, things you just can’t do and expect to compete and win. Nine penalties to one. Three outright busted coverages. Giving up an onside kick. Four drops. Texas has had issues like that all year long. The drops and penalties, especially. Issues like that don’t suddenly disappear in game 10 against a top five opponent. While the Texas players were out-performed, so too were the Texas coaches at key times. After his lead was cut to 4 points midway through the third quarter, Kirby Smart produced a mast…

  16. We are live from between the hedges in Athens, Georgia! This stadium is rocking. The pregame hype has been phenomenal. Now, it is up to the Texas Longhorns to take care of business and keep the season alive! 1st Quarter Texas gets the ball first at the 25-yard line. DeAndre Moore big play out of the backfield, there is a wrinkle we haven’t seen so far this season. First rush attempt of the day goes for 16 yards, a fantastic sign! Longer than any run Texas had against Georgia all of 2024. First big moment of the game is a conversion by the Longhorns to CJ Baxter as a fullback. Big moment. Alright. Strong first possession by the Longhorn…

  17. GEORGETOWN, Texas — It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks for two Georgetown High School football prospects who are committed to Power Four schools: offensive tackle Kaden Scherer and running back Jett Walker. Texas offered Scherer, a Stanford commit, and Walker, who backed off of a verbal commitment to West Virginia before committing to Minnesota, on Thursday. Scherer (6-5, 285) and Walker (6-2, 215) were extended offers while on separate phone calls with Steve Sarkisian, bringing to a head two recruitments that went down different paths before the Longhorns pulled the trigger. Kyle Flood showed interest in Scherer while making the rounds during the spring eval…

  21. Exposure to Previously Untraveled Areas Only to Help Longhorns in Recruiting *** ATLANTA, Georgia – Texas is set to play in Athens, Georgia for the first time in program history. No, really, the first time ever between two very historic, proud programs. Adding Athens to the list of Gainesville, Florida, Lexington, Kentucky, and Starkville, Mississippi for road destinations the Longhorns have traveled to this season, it's a lot of new pins in the map for a program whose logo knows no bounds. I asked Steve Sarkisian on Thursday if a game like this was an opportunity to plant the Longhorn Flag in new recruiting turf across the country. While he initially …

  22. Started by Bobby Burton,

If you went to bed early on Thursday night, you missed some recruiting fireworks. (previously committed to Minnesota) RB Jett Walker of Georgetown (committed to Minnesota) OL Kaden Scherer (committed to Stanford) Jilek committed to Texas last night. He, along with Walker and Scherer, are slated to visit the Longhorns on the weekend of the Arkansas game. While the offers may look sudden, they actually are not. The Texas personnel staff has been evaluating players across the country for mont…

Texas has a loaded room at the tight end position and is expecting a departure of Spencer Shannon following his senior season.
