Texas is set to host another massive five-star prospect this weekend for the final weekend of the June official visits. Grayson (Ga.) linebacker Tyler Atkinson will visit the Longhorns, first reported by Hayes Fawcett. The Longhorns and Atkinson had been flirting with a visit for basically the entire 2025 year, with plans yet to follow through. However, now, the Longhorns get the No. 1 linebacker in the country, per the composite rankings, on campus for a visit. *** Georgia is considered the leader coming into the visit. Recruiting in 2025 is acting like recruiting in 2025. Twists and turns result in wins and losses in the blink of an eye in the current world of recruiting. Texas has certainly experienced its own emotional rollercoaster over the last week. With one final weekend of official visitors loading up, the staff has a loaded group of prospects coming in and can continue to chip away at another top five class. After speaking with sources, Texas OF Will Gasparino will be entering the transfer portal. This is something that I’ve been monitoring for awhile. This was a mutual parting of ways. Obviously the Longhorns have been very active in the portal, already gaining commitments from multiple outfielders.

Texas and the 2026 NFL Draft The Texas Longhorns have had 23 players drafted in the last two NFL drafts. A lot of the talk this off-season has centered around the 2027 NFL draft being the next big one, in terms of numbers of draftees. It’s encouraging that wide receiver Parker Livingstone appears to be taking another step forward during training camp, but, at the same time, we’ve heard very little about Stanford transfer Emmett Mosley V outside of the first few days. Why? According to CJ Vogel, Mosley has not been fully participating in Texas’ practice for a while. We knew he was held out of the first scrimmage but this injury has gone far beyond that. We believe it’s a re-aggravation of a lower leg injury he sustained this summer that also sidelined him for several summer workouts. We’ll do some more digging. According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Texas RB Savion Red is expected to announce his entry to the NCAA Transfer Portal during the window this month. Red played in 12 games in 2023 where he had 30 rushing attempts for 131 yards. Texas is still in a fine position in the running back room with the return of Jaydon Blue and CJ Baxter leading the way, as well as the spring emergence of Tre Wisner. A topic of conversation this week leading up to the Texas-Texas A&M game is the health of quarterback Quinn Ewers and his ankle. First and foremost, Ewers has practiced each day this week and to his credit, has increased intensity each day as the week has progressed. Arizona interior defensive lineman Bill Norton has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal according to a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz. Norton, who played under new Texas LB coach Johnny Nansen a year ago, started his career at Georgia and will be on the move again for his college career in 2024. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound defensive lineman split his snaps between the A-gap (170) and B-gap (179) in 2023 according to PFF. He wound up recording 32 tackles, two forced fumbles and three pass deflections. As Texas pursues options on the defensive line, Norton will be one to keep an eye on.
