With Texas bringing in a talented group of edge rushers this weekend, the picture will be much clearer for where the Horns want to go at the position for the 2026 cycle. However, Carlton and Texas continue to move in a positive direction following multiple school visits in the spring by LaAllen Clark, followed up by the official visit over the weekend. Jack Endries Declares for 2026 NFL Draft *** News out of Austin Friday afternoon: Texas tight end Jack Endries has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. Endries, a one year transfer out of Cal, started all 12 games for the Longhorns this season. On the season, Endries hauled in 33 receptions for 346 yards and three touchdowns. The most impactful game of the season for Endries came in the final weekend of the regular season against Texas A&M where Endries went for a season-high 93 receiving yards. The Latest on Replacing Tashard Choice – All Quiet on the RB Front It has been pretty quiet since the weekend update on the RB coaching front. Since the addition of Georgia Tech RB Coach Norvel McKenzie into the conversation, there have yet to be many developments. Texas won a football game this evening, but it didn't feel like it. And for the next week or so, it probably won't be viewed as such a win inside the facility or on the plane ride home. It was an abysmal evening for the Longhorn offense. Abysmal. The worst in the Sarkisian era, and the worst in probably over a decade. 2026 Class Overview Texas sits today, June 24, at 15 commits in the class of 2026. How many more will the staff take in this cycle? That remains to be seen, though I can see upwards of ten more commits in the class when it is all said and done. Remember: Texas does not lose a lot from its senior class following the upcoming football season, so number may be a bit tighter than a given year. Arch Manning is not infallible. For those trying to make negative premature judgements, I’d caution against that. Strongly. Manning had a good fourth quarter, sustained four drives in the second half, while working through a difficult day at the office. Part of the problem was Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia was clearly determined not to let the Texas passing game beat him. The gameplan worked. While most think of Nick Townsend first among the duo of freshman tight ends, Winston is showing signs that he’s got a real future. - Safety Xavier Filsaime continues to take the next steps. Playing as much as he did late in the season, along with the departure of Michael Taaffe, has provided a lift during bowl practices. - Do not forget about Nick Brooks on the OL. First, and most importantly, I am told that Texas second baseman Ethan Mendoza is okay. He left yesterday’s game due to shoulder pain (the same shoulder that he hurt against Tennessee). Mendoza took part in batting practice this morning. — Speaking of Mendoza, just a week ago I thought he would for sure leave to the MLB Draft. He might still, but it’s not the slam dunk I once thought it was. Monday Recruiting Thoughts Wanted to start off the off week with some general recruiting thoughts. 1. We are entering recruiting territory rarely seen in the state of Texas. Both Texas and Texas A&M are ranked in the top 10 of the polls with both having recruiting momentum, and the NIL to battle nationally. Notes from Orlando Some team notes I've picked up in the last 24 hours in Orlando. Don't sleep on Lacey ... I'm talking K.J. Lacey, not Kewan Lacey guys. 😂 In speaking with a source, to say redshirting freshman QB K.J. Lacey has impressed since being on campus would be an understatement. He's viewed as a quick study, along with having natural playmaking skills and a fearlessness about the way he attacks the game and position. Obviosly, he was well coached at Saraland High by Jeff Kelly. His feet and reactive quickness adapted quickly to the speed of the game when he arrived last spring, and that allowed him to advance quickly in terms of his performance.…

A few nuggets from today's practice that I have been able to gather today. *** First and foremost, On Texas Football has been vocal about the Parker Livingstone noise leading up to the spring and that build up is absolutely paying off so far through the first week of spring ball. I was told Livingstone found the end zone a handful of times on Thursday and was "really damn good" again on Saturday. I have mentioned the pen to pencil ratio in terms of cracking the starting lineup – If Ryan Wingo is in sharpie, Livingstone is right behind him in ballpoint pen. What a wild few days following Texas baseball. From staff changes to high school commitments to picking up portal prospects, it's safe to say Jim Schlossnagle and his team kept me on my toes all weekend. Texas is looking to add to its trophy case with Kelvin Banks being named a finalist for the Outland Award and Jahdae Barron being named a finalist for the Thorpe. A little jet sweep looks, but not as much pre-snap motion Saturday as Sark has in game plans and in-game * Offensive line has somethings they need to clean up. If you didn’t hear Colin Simmons post-game or Ethan Burke yesterday afternoon, you missed a real pleasure. The two veteran defensive ends were having none of the “woe is me” pity party about the Texas offense. Instead, they were genuinely excited about the “team” win in Lexington. As of yesterday, Texas remained involved in the Monshun Sales recruitment. The blue chip receiver from Indianapolis and his representation remained in contact with multiple parties. Sales likely has already made up his mind. However, neither he nor his representation are letting on to those behind the scenes. Bang!! The first official visit weekend of June is prosperous for the Texas Longhorns! The Longhorns earn a commitment from Ouchita Parish (La.) DL Dylan Berymon. Alarm bells started going off at OTF when we heard Berymon was expected to bring double digit number of family members on his official visit this weekend and sure enough, a commitment comes as a result of his trip to Austin. The 6-foot-1-inch, 310-pound interior defensive lineman is a rock on the inside of a defensive line.
