Junior Tu'upo Announcement Thread Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson DB Junior Tu'upo is scheduled to announce his decisions at 3pm CT today. The 6-foot-3, 192-pound versatile DB that projects to safety is considered a Texas lean over Alabama and Auburn headed into the announcement. Tu'upo made his official visit to Texas June 5-7, and followed with OV's to Auburn and Alabama. He also made OV's to Indiana and Oregon prior to Texas. Texas DC Will Muschamp and safeties coach Blake Gideon have made Tu'upo a priority for months, and the OTF 4-star prospect and family fully understand they are a priority. Not that excuses are worth much, but Steve Sarkisian revealed yesterday that not only was Texas without Michael Taaffe and Jelani McDonald on Saturday, but Manny Muhammad was also sidelined for a while during the game. On top of the two signees today - Cal tight end Jack Endries and Maryland defensive lineman Lavon Johnson - On Texas Football has learned that the Longhorns are also hosting another official visitor from the transfer portal, Texas State kicker Mason Shipley. Shipley, who played high school ball at nearby Liberty Hill, was 15-15 as a sophomore and 15-19 as a junior with a long of 60 yards last season. Watching the Portal This Week *** Texas currently sits with nine portal departures since the 2025 season began, and that number will continue to rise as the month of December continues. Three for the price of one! Texas has landed commitments from 2025 Cedar Hill offensive lineman Jordan and Devin Coleman. Kyle Flood and the Longhorn staff have long been involved in the recruitments of the Coleman brothers, dating back to June 11, 2023 when Jordan received his offer from Kyle Flood. The Longhorns then followed up with an offer to Devin in February of 2024. Both brothers visited Texas April 6 where it was clear in conversations with them following the trip they were both big fans of Kyle Flood and the Texas Football program.
