AUSTIN, Texas — Texas freshman five-star quarterback Dia Bell arrived onto the field later than the other quarterbacks on Saturday at Texas Football's Fan Day. Why is that notable? Bell walked onto the field noticeably gingerly, and without his helmet. Bell eventually put on a helmet after throwing a few passes and talking with some staff members. The late run on the transfer portal continues for Texas, as the Longhorns have added a defensive back to the fold in Brown cornerback Nick Hudson. The Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek product is entering his redshirt senior season after appearing in just seven games in 2025. For his career at Brown, Hudson tallied 52 tackles and 13 pass breakups in 27 games. Entering 2025, Hudson was a Third Team Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy selection. Sean Miller and staff have added a third member out of the portal to the 2026-27 Texas Longhorns team. Tennessee transfer guard Amari Evans announced Friday that he has committed to the Texas Longhorns. Evans was a key role player for the Vols as a freshman averaging 4.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and a steal per game in 14.4 minutes per contest. AUSTIN, Texas — The Longhorns will host their annual Football Fan Day on Saturday, as Texas concludes spring football with an open practice. It won’t be a traditional spring game, but the team will scrimmage in some capacity for the fans on hand at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. “Ballpark, you know, we'll probably go about 70-75 plays or so. Michigan State linebacker transfer Darius Snow has committed to Texas, according to CBS Sports' Chris Hummer. The rising seventh-year linebacker is the latest addition for the Longhorns in the class of 2026, joining recent commits from SMU offensive lineman Paris Patterson, and 2026 edge Brinley Tita. Texas signed 2026 edge Brinley Tita earlier this week to add another piece to its top 10-ranked class. But the Longhorns don't appear as though they're done bolstering the position group. Long Beach City College edge rusher Paul Kouame tells OTF he's currently en route to Austin for an official visit. The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder is coming off a freshman season with the Vikings where he totaled 34 tackles, including three tackles for a loss, and two sacks. The Texas staff recently extended a late 2026 offer to Humble (Texas) Summer Creek edge rusher Brinley Tita. The in-state standout didn't wait long to take the Longhorns up on the invitation, and has signed with the program ahead of summer. The new 105 scholarship limit has allowed the UT staff to add more developmental pieces to the fold. Per a source at Texas, Tita is seen as a solid in-state player that adds depth to the edge room. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder tallied 94 total tackles, including 22 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks as a senior on his way to earning Co-Defenisve Player of the Year honors in 23-6A. The news of the visits is also very interesting because the circle of Sales reached out to Texas and informed the staff of Monshun having serious interest prior to the recruitment beginning. It was noted loosely the last day or so, but wanted to make it a full post. I have it on good authority WR Emmett Mosley V is back on the practice field for the Longhorns. Mosley is expected to be a participant in all routes on air and a limited participant in 1v1’s and team drills. Arch Manning will get the final week of spring ball to throw to Mosley, Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman on the same offense.
