According to Dr. Brett Wilkinson, the University of Texas has won its third Directors Cup in the last four years. Stanford needed to dramatically outscore the Longhorns in women’s track and field today to overtake Texas. But that did not occur. Texas athletics is headed by athletic director Chris Del Conte. Del Conte took the reins in Austin 2017. Under his stewardship the Longhorns have become the nation’s premier college athletic program. Del Conte was named named athletic director of the year earlier this year by Sports Business Journal. View full news story

OTF spoke with Houston (Texas) Dekaney and OTF 4-star WR/ATH Tanook Hines a few minutes ago. Hines met with Steve Sarkisian, Chris Jackson and other Texas coaches over the weekend. Texas told Hines they are recruiting him as a wide receiver, but defensive back is a position he could get a look at. OTF believes Texas is in an ascending position headed into the Notre Dame OV next weekend. Baylor is also scheduled for June 21-23. Hines visited USC last weekend, and Arizona State in late April. Hines said he plans to announce a decision in July. View full news story

2025 Alamo Heights ATH Michael Terry III has returned back to San Antonio following his official visit to Texas over the weekend. The question coming into the weekend was in regards to where he would fit on the field at the next level – with the idea of playing defense being floated as well. Terry would prefer playing offense, but the conversation is fluid at the moment with the Longhorns. There was a conversation about playing on the defensive side of the ball during the official visit this weekend. With 10.8 speed in his pocket, Terry brings plenty of athleticism to play just about anywhere. Texas pitched a linebacker/STAR role this weekend on defense. …

Scottie Scheffler keeps on winning. The Texas-Ex won the Memorial Tournament by one stroke with an 8-under par finish. Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 ranked golfer, pocketed $4-million with the win. A post-official visit update on the seven visitors on campus at Texas this weekend and where things are moving for each recruitment. *** WR Tanook Hines – Dekaney (Texas) High Battle: Texas & Notre Dame Trending: Texas over ND Hines was a late addition to the official visit weekend in Austin and snuck in for the weekend. Texas has been pursuing the elite speedster for a while, with visits dating back to July of 2023 and the Junior Day in January. Some odds and ends from early workouts: - Jay’Vion Cole has impressed early in on-field work. - So has Andrew Mukuba. Despite the return of both Michael Taffe and Derek Williams at safety, it is simply going to be very hard to keep Mukuba out of the starting lineup come August. Mukuba is said to be extremely consistent at a fairly high level. - Of the younger OLs, Jaydon Chatman and Brandon Baker both returned from break ready to go. 2025 Mission Viejo CB Dijon Lee will no longer officially visit Texas this week he told me late last night. Instead, the plan will be to arrive June 18-20 for a midweek official visit. Lee had originally been scheduled to arrive this afternoon and spend all of Thursday and parts of Friday with the Texas staff before hitting the road for his official visit to Texas A&M. Texas continues to have plenty of ground to make up here, as Lee previously left the Longhorns out of his top four — Georgia, Alabama, Washington and A&M. Texas One Fund announced a collaboration with the Passes, a creator monetization platform, for 40 of the top male and female athletes currently residing on The 40 Acres. Texas has added a visitor to its official visit list – 2025 Mansfield Timberview DB Nathan Tilmon. The plan is for Tilmon to officially visit Texas next week for a midweek trip June 18–20. Tilmon received his Texas offer on the morning of June 1 before the Texas staff hosted the elite camp on The 40 Acres. At the time, Tilmon had his official visits locked in for the month of June. He was going to see Utah, Baylor and TCU throughout the month, however Texas was able to sneak in a visit from one of the regional competitors. Tilmon is a 6-foot, 185-pound safety that can really fly. He carries 10.7 speed in his game and has been used as a two-way player in hig…
