NOLA Brother Martin WR Easton Royal — Texas commit — Make no mistake, the most important recruit on campus this weekend is Easton Royal. The 5-star wide receiver committed to Texas over Florida and LSU November 29. The day before Jon Sumrall was hired by Florida and Lane Kiffin was hired by LSU. Since that time, Texas has had Royal on campus multiple times while Florida and LSU have done the same. This recruitment was about three schools when he committed, and that's exactly where it's stayed. Ezavier Crowell announcement thread OTF 4-star++ running back Ezavier Crowell (Jackson, Ala./High) is set to announce his commitment at around 6pm CST today. This one is expected to be Alabama or Texas, with Auburn and Georgia rounding out the four in contention. Steve Sarkisian is personally in this recruitment, and Texas is giving it everything they have. If Crowell picks Alabama, it will be besting a completely all in effort by the Longhorns. Time to Prove It for Many Longhorns this Fall OTF had the conversation in our group chat over the weekend that no matter the projected starting lineup we have in mind entering fall camp, things can always change. Remember just a year ago, it was unknown where Jahdae Barron would start on the field for the Texas defense. He would eventually go on to win the Thorpe. Fast rising 2027 RB at Texas spring practice Tuesday The Texas Longhorns have interest in one of the fastest rising 2027 running back’s in the Lone Star State. Frisco High’s Brennen Lacey made his way to Austin Tuesday to take in Texas spring practice. The Texas staff invited him down for spring practice Sunday, and he quickly made plans to head south from DFW. Lacey spent some time with running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, and others. The FBS Oversight Committee has proposed several modifications to the college football schedule that would be implanted on January 1, 2027. 1. Two Out of Season Practice Periods Proposed changes would take the place of spring practices and summer activities with the implementation of two 21-practice sessions during the offseason. “The duration of the two practice periods may not exceed seven weeks, and neither practice period may exceed five weeks. Additionally, schools must designate a minimum of nine discretionary or voluntary weeks for student-athletes when required athletically related activities are not permitted.” 2. After losing multiple support staff members this offseason, it was expected that the Longhorns would be looking to fill certain roles. According to FootballScoop.com, Steve Sarkisian is doing exactly that and is now set to hire Arkansas Pine Bluff’s Chris Forestier as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Forestier was originally hired as UA-Pine Bluff’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in March.
