What a win for the Longhorns in the portal. Texas has flipped former Louisville DL Jermayne Lole from his commitment from Oklahoma. Lole has instead committed to the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns continue to add to their defensive line room as Lole becomes the third addition to this room, joining Bill Norton and Tia Savea. Lole is sixth year senior who spent three years at Arizona State before spending 2023 at Louisville. Two seasons were lost to injury. The first day of July brings good news the way of the Longhorns! 2025 Alief Hastings EDGE rusher Smith Orogbo has committed to the Texas Longhorns. A tightly contested battle between Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech ends up with the Longhorns landing the 6-foot-4-inch, 225-pound edge prospect. Orogbo is currently ranked the 117th player in the country per the 247Sports Composite. With Orogbo in the fold, the Longhorns' edge class in 2025 is looking superb with Lance Jackson now with a running mate. BOOM! Texas has landed another commitment, this time from Richmond Randle running back Landen Williams-Callis. At 5-foot-7.5, 190 pounds, Williams-Callis chose the Longhorns over Texas A&M, SMU, Houston, and Missouri. The Richmond Randle product is the consensus No. 3 running back in the nation and is ranked as a top 50 overall prospect. One of, if not the first prospects to emerge in the entire 2027 class, Williams-Callis picked up his first offer from Grambling State in the spring of 7th grade. Texas RB CJ Baxter is set to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal when it opens January 2nd. ESPN's Pete Thamel was the first to break the news that the Texas running back will opt out of the bowl game and enter the portal when it opens on January 2nd. I can add this had been a growing possibility since the Kentucky game in Moncrief. In SEC play, Baxter attempted 30 rushing attempts for just 85 yards. A college football bomb exploded yesterday, its epicenter Ann Arbor, Mich. Exactly one week after national signing day and three weeks before Michigan is set to take on Texas in the Citrus Bowl, the Wolverines fired head coach Sherrone Moore for cause. Latest on the Portal Entrances and Rumors *** The news of DeAndre Moore's departure should not come as a surprise for anyone who has been following OTF for the last month. Another commitment in the fold! 2026 Waxahachie WR Kohen Brown has committed to the Longhorns after an official visit this weekend. Texas soared into this recruitment late, but multiple visits by the Texas staff in the spring, topped off by the official visit this weekend allow the Texas staff to overcome Notre Dame, Utah and others in this recruitment. Brown was previously committed to USC, though re-opened his commitment in April. He held 44 offers during his recruitment. A week ago, I was genuinely surprised by the Longhorns’ offensive performance against Oklahoma, as were many of you probably. Louisville has not released running back Isaac Brown to the portal. Even though he has submitted his paperwork, Louisville has not signed off on the transfer portal waiver, according to sources. The Cardinals are clearly making a last-ditch effort to retain him and/or muddy the waters for potential suitors. LSU is said to be doing something similar to offensive tackle Carius Curne. Brown posted on Twitter on Jan. 1 his intent to transfer. Schools have 48 hours (or two business days) before they must submit the paperwork to the portal. The 6-foot-4.5, 300-pounder chose the Longhorns over Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC, among others. Big news out of Duncanville. Five-star WR Dakorien Moore has decommitted from LSU and re-opened his recruitment. Moore had been committed to LSU since August 12, 2023, however there had always been plenty of whispers behind the scenes that Texas was not all too worried about the verbal pledge.
