  1. Take a look at any 2027 NFL Mock Draft and the majority will have Arch Manning atop the field of players coming out next offseason. On the Up & Adams Show Monday morning, Kay Adams asked UT head coach Steve Sarkisian about Manning potentially declaring early and if Sark would be surprised if Manning wanted to stay in Austin for one more season. “We haven’t had the discussion. I will tell you I would not be surprised,” Sarkisian said. “I think Arch really loves college football. I really do. I think he loves the University of Texas. He does pretty good through NIL. He’s got some pretty good endorsements going right now, which is a credit to him and obviousl…

  2. Up Next: June 19-21 official visitor list The Texas Longhorns are scheduled to host at least 12 official visitors this weekend, in what will be the final June official visit weekend for the staff in the 2027 cycle. Texas currently sits at 14 commitments with a class expected to reach 20 by mid-July. Texas remains on track to put together another top 5 level class, as long as they hold onto the best commits in the class. OTF takes a look at the June 19-21 OV list to begin the week. 3. Down A Rabbit Hole: 3rd Downs *** We are cruising along in the month of June, meaning you will eventually look up at the 100 Day countdown and be surprised that we are just 75 days away this time next week. As a result, I will be taking a look at interesting statistical strengths and weaknesses from the Texas football season in 2025. There are clear areas of improvement necessary for the 2026 team to reach the heights they hope to this fall. One of those areas is third down success. Over the last few hours I went through every single third down the Longhorns attempted in 2025. Divvied up by game, I wanted to focus on the scoring outputs the Longhorns h…

  4. Texas stride for stride with Ole Miss commit after weekend OV The Texas Longhorns took a big swing at Ole Miss defensive line commit Ben'Jarvius Shumaker (Ackerman, Miss./Choctaw County) over the weekend. Going into the weekend, Kenny Baker had Texas positioned to give Ole Miss a run with multiple visits to Choctaw County High and a lot of communication with Shumaker's family and circle. Shortly leaving to head home to Mississippi, the 6-foot-3, 285-pound explosive playmaker told the media the Longhorns exceeded expectations. “It was really a great weekend I would say.” Shumaker said. “One of the best I have been to. I would say I really loved how …

  5. Four-star cornerback Montre Jackson wrapped up an official visit to Texas over the weekend, a return trip to the Forty Acres for the Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial product. He's named Texas his leader throughout the spring. He maintains the Longhorns are still on top after the weekend. He gave OTF a brief synopsis on the visit. "It went great overall," Jackson told OTF. "I really enjoyed it. Really got to get a look at Texas in a different lens. What stood out to me was the culture. I learned that they really have a strong culture that makes them knit together and their message to me was I can possibly come in and make some(thing) shake in the room. My fa…

  6. Recruiting smorgasbord: Another 19-21 OV; Texas still fighting for Fakatou OnTexasFootball brings the latest juice from the recruiting trail while you watch Texas vs. Georgia in the College World Series. Adding another weekend OV Shadow Creek (Texas) High's Brandon Sherrard has been a possibility to make an OV to Texas June 19-21. It's gone back and forth, but as of Tuesday night a source told OTF that the 6-1, 180-pound cornerback/DB is scheduled to be in Austin this weekend. OTF can also report that Sherrard was in Austin last week for an unofficial visit, and worked out for Texas. The former high school teammate of Texas freshman Chris Stewart made an OV …

  7. After winning back to back National Championships, Mike White and Texas Softball might have just landed their biggest transfer out of the NCAA Portal. Former Florida State SS Isa Torres has committed to Texas, she announced on her instagram on Tuesday. "Howdy, I'm coming home." Torres posted. Torres had an astonishing .530 batting average in 2026, good for the 3rd highest mark of any player in the entire country. She hit 16 home runs and drove in 54 runs. The native of Georgetown had just two errors in the field as well. What an addition for the Longhorns. View full news story

  8. Yesterday marked the best single game performance of any Longhorn for the entire 2025-2026 school year. Adrian Rodriguez, a sophomore from Flower Mound, hit for the cycle in a 14-2 win over Alabama in Omaha. Rodriguez finished the game 5-5 with seven RBIs and 12 total bases. What were other GREAT single game performances this school year for the Longhorns in your opinion? Teagan Kavan in game one of women’s softball World Series. Arch Manning in the Citrus Bowl or Colin Simmons’ three-sack night against Kentucky. Maddie Booker’s 40-point performance over Oregon. Any others? ** Texas has a rematch with Georgia tonight at 7pm. 10. How Could Moving Kobe Black to Safety Help Texas in 2026 *** If you have not yet, go read Gerry Hamilton's article from this morning. There is mention of Kobe Black moving from cornerback to safety ahead of his junior season with the Longhorns. As a result, I wanted to look at the safety room as a whole, both with and without Black in the room to provide an idea of why the room remains a bit of a question mark going into the 2026 season. Since the spring, you have heard a good chunk of us here at OTF point towards the safety room as one of the largest remaining question marks about this Texas Longhorn season. Yes, there is talent, but there was also li…

  12. Texas has three offensive line commitments in the class of 2027 after landing arguably its top target at tackle in Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff product Brian Swanson. The Longhorns went wire to wire as the 6-foot-5, 315-pounder’s leader, and got it over the finish line on Wednesday. So where does Texas go from here along the offensive line? It’s pretty simple. The commitments: Brian Swanson, OT, Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff Jackson Cook, IOL, Austin (Texas) Westlake Keyon Hemphill-Woods, IOL, Columbus (Texas) The targets: Ismael Camara, 5-star IOL, Gilmer (Texas) Camara opted to not take any official visits this summer, instead f…

  14. Texas Tech LHP Samantha Lincoln has committed to Texas, according to her social media pages. The rising junior from Taunton, Mass. appeared in 25 games, with 12 starts in 2026. She registered a 3.47 era and an undefeated 7-0 record. For the year, Lincoln struck out 67 batters. She threw 3.1 innings against Texas in Game 1 of the WCWS Finals, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out one Longhorn. Texas will welcome back legendary Longhorn Teagan Kavan for at least one more season, but has to replace veteran pitcher Citlaly Gutierrez as well as Cambria Salmon, a reserve pitcher, who entered the transfer portal this offseason. 15. Texas football recruiting marches to its own pace. Every time you think there might be a run of commitments, the call for “patience” almost immediately re-introduces itself. Sark doesn’t mind that. Neither does Brandon Harris. After all, it’s how you finish in recruiting that matters, not how you start. All they care about-and justifiably so-are the results. And we’re starting to get a glimpse of those results. In the last week, Texas has added two major pieces on the defensive side of the ball - defensive tackle Kasi Currie and edge Jabarrius Garror. Both are blue chips. Now we wait for more blue chips to come off the board. South Oak C…

  18. BOOM! Texas has landed another commitment, this time from Dallas South Oak Cliff offensive tackle Brian Swanson. At 6-foot-5.5, 305 pounds, Swanson chose the Longhorns over Oklahoma and SMU amongst three dozen other offers. The State Champion offensive tackle gave the good news to the Texas staff on his official visit before going public with the decision on Wednesday. OTF caught up with Swanson on Monday morning to hear his thoughts on why he committed to the Longhorns. “I chose Texas because it felt like home and I believe they can develop me into the best offensive lineman I can be. The relationship with all the coaches was big for me. They ma…

  19. South Oak Cliff offensive lineman Brian Swanson was a priority recruit for the Longhorns from day one. It was a huge win for Texas. The Longhorns are in that phase of recruiting right now. They’re battling for the big dogs. And the big dogs are starting to come off the board. Four of the last five commitments rank among the top five of Texas’ 15 commitments for the class of 2027. So that leaves us with two questions: 1. What’s next for Texas recruiting overall? 2. What’s next for OL recruiting more specifically? Our Hank South answered that second question with a precise report yesterday on how Texas will focus on the OL moving forw…

  21. THE PERCEPTION/RECRUITING WIN - Ranked as the consensus No. 1 cornerback and a consensus top 4 prospect in the 2027 cycle, Meredith is now the third highest-rated prospect the Longhorns have landed in the modern recruiting era according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. With a rating of 0.9994, Meredith falls behind only Vince Young (1.0000) and Arch Manning (0.9995) on the all-time list. - Texas won a head to head battle over Texas A&M for Meredith, who was the Aggies’ No. 1 target on the board regardless of position for the entire cycle. - Texas came from behind to get this done. Texas A&M and Alabama were the early leaders, but Texas never th…

  22. BOOM! Texas landed arguably the biggest piece to its 2027 class yet in five-star cornerback John Meredith III on Friday. The Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley product committed to the Longhorns over Texas A&M, and a long list of others. Meredith, the unanimous No. 1 cornerback in the class, has long been a priority target for Texas. UT surged ahead in his recruitment earlier this spring when the in-state DB took back-to-back visits to Austin in the span of one week. “Things are mutual,” Meredith told OTF of UT earlier in the spring. “Still talking to Coach (Mark) Orphey. Same relationship. We know where things stand. He’s not faking me. He keeps it a buc…

  23. Team note and recruiting percentages A team note and more on recruiting to begin your Wednesday. Team note... OTF believes the odds of junior Kobe Black moving to safety continue to rise. Black, who was a starting cornerback in the spring showcase, also repped a little at safety in the spring. OTF was informed earlier this week that Black is going to work more at safety this summer and leading into August practices. The defensive staff continues to look forward to seeing Jonah Williams on the field in August. Nothing has changed in terms of the sophomore safety being one of the best pure athletes in the program. Texas badly wants Williams to be a major…

Texas began hosting St. Mary's catcher Ian Armstrong yesterday and Kent State outfielder Sawyer Solitaria will arrive this morning.
