Portal recruiting is moving at full speed for Jim Schlossnagle and his staff, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The Longhorns hosted three visitors over the weekend. While I can't put out one of those names, two that did visit include a pair of prospects from Virginia. OF Henry Ford and INF Eric Becker both took in a visit to the Forty Acres later in the weekend and, as of last night, were still on campus. I think some folks are starting to catch on. If Texas really wants a player, is willing to battle to the very end, then Texas has a pretty good shot in that recruitment. Yet if another team makes an out of range NIL offer, Texas simply won’t chase. Two wrongs don’t make a right, not when you’re trying to juggle adding elite players to your roster while also satisfying those already on it into the next season. Texas has found their QB for the class of 2026! Dia Bell, out of American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has committed to The University of Texas. The big decision of the 2026 class at the quarterback position has been decided. Texas hosted several quarterbacks June 1 for the Elite Camp — most notably Bell and California QB Troy Huhn. Though, we now clearly know where the Longhorns opted to go with their QB spot in the 2026 class. After winning back to back National Championships, Mike White and Texas Softball might have just landed their biggest transfer out of the NCAA Portal. Former Florida State SS Isa Torres has committed to Texas, she announced on her instagram on Tuesday. "Howdy, I'm coming home." Torres posted. Torres had an astonishing .530 batting average in 2026, good for the 3rd highest mark of any player in the entire country. She hit 16 home runs and drove in 54 runs. The Longhorns continue to look to the portal to fill roster holes and will host two visitors today. One of those visitors is LSU RHP Marcos Paz. Last season Paz posted a 1-4 record and 9.20 ERA in 17 appearances, including six starts, while racking up 40 strikeouts and 27 walks in 29.1 innings. Amid the six starters on defense who had already opted out of the bowl game, it’s perhaps the seventh that will have the biggest effect. The loss of linebacker Liona Lefau, at least as it relates to potentially defeating Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, could be tough to overcome.
