  2. We remain on commit watch. ** Big 12 presidents meet today to discuss the future of Texas Tech. This comes two days after 15 of 16 conference athletic directors met with Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark and told the conference that Brendan Sorsby should not play this season, some going so far as to call it a disgrace to college sports. Likely as a result of that meeting, Tech allegedly told multiple media members yesterday that they were prepared to sue the Big 12 or individual schools if the Big 12 took action against them. Hey, it’s America. Anyone can sue anyone else for anything. But I don’t think the Big 12 or anyone else is quaking in their…

  5. Texas has landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Kasi Currie out of Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, Calif. The 6-foot-4.5, 300-pounder chose the Longhorns over Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC, among others. Currie is coming off an official visit to Austin this past weekend, one that he gave rave reviews. “Really just the brotherhood,” Currie said of what stood out on the Forty Acres. “They really showed that a lot, the brotherhood.” Currie is former teammates with Texas freshman edge rusher Richard Wesley. But it was Jamarion Carlton who hosted the talented defensive lineman over the weekend. Currie was at Texas’ first spring practic…

  6. JaBarrius Garror announcement thread OTF 4-star++ EDGE/LB JaBarrius Garror is scheduled to announce his college commitment around 10am CT this morning with Texas considered the favorite over Auburn, Georgia and Florida State. The 6-foot-2.5, 225-pounder made an April unofficial visit and June 5-7 official visit to Texas. EDGE coach LaAllen Clark has worked this recruitment very well for the Longhorns, with an assist from defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. Otherworldly production Garror is one of the most productive prospects in the 2027 cycle. 2025 (junior): 106 tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss, 21 sacks and 18 QB hurries in 15 games. 2024 (sopho…

  7. As expected, Texas is building some recruiting momentum coming off of last week’s official visit weekend and heading into this one. The pledge yesterday of Kasi Currie, a defensive tackle from California, was a huge pickup for Texas, literally. Currie is 6-foot-4, 315 pounds and looks like he’s cut from a block of granite. He brings the commitment total for the class of 2027 to 13. Mobile, Ala., product Jabarrius “Chicken” Garror could be next up for the Horns. Garror, who visited Texas last weekend as well, announces his decision this morning at 10am. He’s another defensive front seven guy that Will Muschamp, LaAllen Clark and Kenny Baker id…
