Port Charlotte (Fla.) High 4-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has his official visit date to Texas locked in. Texas had been working on the June 14-16 date, but has settled on getting him in earlier. The Longhorns are set to host the 6-4, 290 pounder May 31-June 2 for an official visit. Charles made an unofficial visit to Texas in late March, and the visit impressed to the level of securing an OV. Florida State has been considered the favorite for months. The Seminoles get the last OV June 21-23. He will visit Texas, Miami and Florida in that order prior to FSU.

Conroe (Texas) High 4-star cornerback Dorian Brew has locked in his official visit to Texas. Brew, 6-2 and 197 pounds, will make his official visit to Austin June 7-9. Brew also has OV’s locked in to Ohio State June 21-23, LSU and USC.

University of Texas president Jay Hartzell spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon following all-day meetings with his conference peers at the SEC spring meetings. - Hartzell was very complimentary of the SEC. Texas landed a commitment from Penn pitcher Eli Trop. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound RHP has one year of eligibility remaining. Trop has a 3.07 career ERA, along with 82 strikeouts during those three years. This has been in the works for quite some time, but I’ve sat on it out of respect for Trop. He originally committed in the fall, as Ivy Leagues don’t allow a fifth year. So he entered his name into the portal in October.

Texas continues to do work as the staff climbs up the west coast. An offer was extended this evening to a 2025 linebacker out of Spanaway, Washington. Zaydrius Rainey-Sale received an offer from Johnny Nansen and Steve Sarkisian this evening. The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound linebacker has been scorching on the recruiting trail as of late, picking up offers from Oklahoma, UCLA and Cal in the last week. It has been reported that Rainey-Sale will officially visit Oregon State (May 31), Washington June 7, Florida State June 14 and Oklahoma June 21. Texas has extended an offer to 2027 St. John Bosco WR Isala Aisa Wily-Ava after camping with the Longhorns Thursday night. Texas forward Nic Codie is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, OTF has learned. A source tells OTF that the Longhorns are opting to move in a different direction. Codie is expected to have a number of options elsewhere. One source close to Codie indicated that a return to Texas would not be ruled out but it would have to make sense on the Longhorns’ end. AUSTIN, Texas — Four-star 2028 edge rusher Tyler Armstrong earned his Texas offer in person at the Longhorns’ Elite Camp last month. The Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker product is coming off a sophomore season where he tallied 26 tackles, including 10 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He also had a pick-six on the season. “It feels great that all my hard work is being recognized by bigger schools,” Armstrong told OTF after his workout in Austin last month. With more offers out in Alabama and North Carolina in the past two days, it's clear to me that Texas coaches are "broadening" their recruiting map. Texas is getting ready to be a true national recruiting school IMO.

Rodney Terry said after tonight's 82-78 win over Kentucky that "knock on wood," the Longhorns will have Chendall Weaver back on the court for next Saturday's road game against South Carolina. Weaver hasn't played since logging two minutes the team's 82-78 loss to Auburn on Jan. 7.
