Texas traded in its pads and helmets when it wrapped up its spring season roughly two weeks ago. Of course, the big storyline following the spring game was Arch Manning, but a number of expected playmakers littered the highlight reel following the mock game. The spring portal window has concluded — for entrants, that is — however decisions will continue to come in over the next week or two. For the second time in less than two months, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon defensive lineman Kasi Currie travelled to Texas to check in with the Longhorns, this time for spring practice. “It was great,” Currie told OTF. “The energy was high. The intensity. Really just getting to watch Richard Wesley play. It was really great watching him. Texas takes the field for the final scrimmage of fall camp tomorrow morning. The scrimmage will be a mock game – no coaches on the field, traditional entrances in and out of the tunnels and TV timeouts filtered in for the feel of what a real football game in the fall would feel like. Unlike a week ago, it is expected parents and traditional practice guests will be unable to attend the Longhorns' practice. This is as close as you will get to the 2025 Texas football team as one will get before August 30. Watching the Portal This Week *** Texas currently sits with nine portal departures since the 2025 season began, and that number will continue to rise as the month of December continues.
