Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting that Texas RB coach Tashard Choice is expected to interview with the Dallas Cowboys soon. Choice is a former Cowboys player and has a long-standing relationship with owner Jerry Jones. Jones has even had Choice meet with the Cowboys’ rookie running backs in seasons prior. Choice makes $700,000 per year with the Longhorns. Most NFL RB assistants are paid in the $400k range. Choice almost certainly is due a raise with the Longhorns this off-season. Texas won a football game this evening, but it didn't feel like it. And for the next week or so, it probably won't be viewed as such a win inside the facility or on the plane ride home. Add a tight end to the 2026 portal class! Texas has secured a signature from former Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas following his visit to campus on Monday. Masunas played the last three seasons with the Spartans in East Lansing, tallying over 500 career snaps. In 2025 specifically, Masunas recorded 391 snaps on the season. In the passing game, Masunas hauled in 19 passes for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns. At 6-foot-5-inches and 259 pounds, Masunas lined up almost exclusively as an in-line blocker in 2025. Five-star Duncanville WR Dakorien Moore will make his college decision tomorrow on the 4th of July. The final four for Moore includes Texas, Oregon, Ohio State and LSU. But the real difference in a recruit making it or not comes from a combination of commitment to craft, football smarts, work ethic, and more intangibles than I can list. The Texas Longhorns have landed a commitment from Kansas State transfer power forward Arthur Kaluma. Kaluma, 6-7 and 225 pounds, has played three season of high-major basketball. He played at Creighton for two seasons before transferring to Kansas State for the 2023-24 season. He's also tested the NBA Draft waters, before returning to college.
