Texas has extended an offer to 2027 Denton Guyer defensive lineman Khyren Haywood following his performance at the Big Man Camp this afternoon. Haywood was golf carted from the camp over to Moncrief where he received a tour of the facilities and spoke with the Texas staff following the afternoon at the Bubble. The 6-foot-2-inch and 260-pound defensive lineman holds 14 offers at the moment, as the Longhorns join Oregon, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech and several others. View full news story

After losing multiple support staff members this offseason, it was expected that the Longhorns would be looking to fill certain roles. According to FootballScoop.com, Steve Sarkisian is doing exactly that and is now set to hire Arkansas Pine Bluff’s Chris Forestier as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Forestier was originally hired as UA-Pine Bluff’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in March. Texas hoops S&C coach Cory Schlesinger headed to the NBA Texas basketball strength & conditioning coach Cory Schlesinger is departing Texas and headed to the NBA. Yesterday I gave you all my personal rankings of the SEC in its entirety. Texas came in 2nd behind Georgia, as most would expect and accept at the moment. Today, we will tackle the top wide receivers corps in the SEC which may end up being a bit more problematic based off of the rankings compared to yesterday. I’ve been part of ranking recruits, at one level or another, since 1993. I’ve made some good calls, some bad ones and plenty in between. And I’ve learned a lot along the way. Hoops report: Early returns The Texas Longhorns 2024-25 team has reported to Austin, and is in the gym daily. OTF picked up some early thoughts and returns around the program in the last 24 hours. Jayson Kent has been mentioned early on as an impressive pick up. Both physically (from a strength of frame stand point) and really knowing how to play the game. OnTexasFootball was informed that Conroe (Texas) High 4-star cornerback Dorian Brew is making his visit to UCS this weekend around a local graduation of a family member on the mother’s side. The family is in the process of shuffling the OV schedule the remainder of the month, and Texas is expected to receive a weekend official visit (either June 14-16 or 21-23). Big time out of state visitor Wednesday OnTexasFootball has learned that Sunshine State 4-star wide receiver and Oregon commitment Dallas Wilson (Tampa, Fla./Tech) is scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas June 5 per a source close to the recruitment in Tampa. Texas has offered a new defensive lineman out of the west coast. 2025 Rancho Santa Margarita DL Jayden-Jamal Hanne was offered by Texas DL coach Kenny Baker Tuesday afternoon. The 6-foot-5 and 290-pound defensive lineman has earned offers from Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, and Oregon in the last three days. Needless to say his recruitment is exploding at the moment. Hanne is from Germany officially, and is still relatively new to the game. A developmental prospect, but the tape shows plenty of athleticism due to a multi-sport background growing up. 2025 Duncanville QB Keelon Russell has flipped his commitment from SMU to Alabama. Texas hosted Russell on Sunday, April 21, the day after the spring game in Austin. Change of OV plans for 4-star Kade Phillips OnTexasFootball was informed by 4-star defensive back Kade Phillips (Missouri City, Texas/Hightower) that he will no longer make a previously scheduled official visit to Texas A&M this weekend. When OTF was by Hightower High in May the feeling received by those close to the recruitment is that the Aggies were slowly fading. The official visit for Mission Viejo (CA) cornerback Dijon Lee is still scheduled to happen he confirmed with me. Lee dropped a top four last week that did not include the Longhorns – Georgia, Alabama Texas A&M and Washington. However, the official visit for June 12–14 is a trip he still expects to make. Per the composite ranking, Lee is a five-star cornerback and a top-30 national player.
