The Clarion Ledger released its 'Dandy Dozen' for the 2026 season on Monday. It's an annual list of a dozen of the state's top rising senior football players that comes out each August. Dating back to 1989, the Dandy Dozen is arguably the most prestigious award/list a Mississippi HSFB player could be named to. Update on LB Anthony Hill Jr. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke on linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and his status following a report earlier Monday morning that Hill suffered a broken bone in his hand during the loss to Georgia. "With both (Anthony Hill Jr.) and Ryan (Wingo), we're just we're making sure that they're going to be okay," Sarkisian said. "I'm not ready to make that diagnosis on where they're going to be yet, but I feel optimistic." Texas offered the 6-foot, 185-pound playmaking safety out of DFW area power South Oak Cliff February 2, and has been in hot pursuit since. The 2026 NFL Draft won’t break records for Texas, but a handful of Longhorns are expected to be selected in the coming days — a feat that shouldn’t be taken for granted considering that after this year’s draft the Longhorns will have had more players taken in the last four years than Texas had from 2011-2021 combined (31 if you were wondering).
