Four-star TE from California locks in official visit Four-star tight end Kaleb Edwards (El Dorado Hills, Cali./Oak Ridge) picked up an offer from Texas January 16, 2024. And now Edwards, 6-6 and 225, is scheduled to make an official visit to Texas in June according to 247Sports West Coast reporter Brandon Huffman. OnTexasFootball can confirm the report. Portal interior defensive lineman Jay Toia opted to return to UCLA late Monday evening. Toia was on campus with his family and younger brother over the weekend for the Texas spring game. Texas pushed for the talented interior defensive lineman, who was ranked as the 3rd best at his position per 247Sports. The decision for Toia to return is a blow. Even following the announcement from Bill Norton to commit to Texas, the Longhorns had made it clear they were looking to add another body to that room for Kenny Baker in 2024. Brew has OV’s set to LSU May 31-June 2, Texas June 14-16 and Ohio State June 21-23. He also has tentative dates for Oregon and USC. Port Orange, Fla. - OnTexasFootball made a stop at Spruce Creek High around lunchtime. OTF had the opportunity to sit down with 4-star defensive lineman Derry Norris to get the latest. And the latest is Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker was at Spruce Creek practice Monday to watch the 6-4, 270 pounder with 10.5 inch hands. The result of the visit was Baker talking to Norris about locking in a June 21-23 official visit date. OTF believes that will get finalized soon. Texas and Miami have Norris’ full attention. 2025 Mission Viejo (CA) cornerback Dijon Lee has released a top four for his recruitment which does not include the Longhorns. Lee's top four included Washington, Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M. Why is this noteworthy? Well, an official visit was just scheduled by Lee to Texas for June 12-14. It is the only midweek official visit locked in by a 2025 target to Texas at the moment which is also worth mentioning. Lee tells me his official visit will still take place this summer. Across college football there are a lot of meaningful games this weekend. The biggest game is Ohio State going to Penn State. A loss would put the Buckeyes on the outside looking in for the Big 10 championship game and could potentially do the same for the CFP. 2020 Class Rewind: 14 signees in CFP; and two award winners The Texas Longhorns signed the No. 9 ranked class in 2020 with Tom Herman at the helm. The Texas Longhorns now hold four offensive line pledges after Thursday’s commitment from Lucas Rhoa. Rhoa has been recruited to play all five positions at Texas but will likely end up playing guard or right tackle. Dallas South Oak Cliff’s Brian Swanson is a true tackle that can project to playing the left or right side in the SEC. Jackson Cook will likely play center but could have some guard flexibility.
