Texas forward Declan Duru Jr. is entering the NCAA transfer portal, On Texas Football has learned. On3 first reported Duru set to enter. OTF's Gerry Hamilton has been reporting this is an expected development. Duru is the fourth known departure from Sean Miller’s program following the 2025-26 season, joining guard Simeon Wilcher and forwards Nic Codie and Cam Heide. The 6-foot-9-inch Duru played in 12 games for the Longhorns this past season, averaging 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. Texas to Host 2027 LB Joakim Gouda on March 10th *** Adding to the list of prospects who will be seeing campus in March is South Palding (Ga.) linebacker Joakim Gouda. Gouda will take a trip to campus March 10th, one day after spring football kicks off for the Longhorns. Currently ranked as a three-star prospect, Gouda has been one of the fastest risers in the winter evaluation period. He is currently listed at 6-foot-2-inches tall and 220 pounds. In the month of January alone, Gouda received offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Boston College and Florida State. Texas hoops S&C coach Cory Schlesinger headed to the NBA Texas basketball strength & conditioning coach Cory Schlesinger is departing Texas and headed to the NBA. Schlesinger, who is considered one of the best in his field, is expected to take the same position with the Detroit Pistons. One might label the Texas transfer portal class from the 2024-25 cycle as lackluster if their assumption is based on how ESPN ranked the Longhorn newcomers. Defensive tackle Maraad Watson and tight end Jack Endries are the only two transfers coming into Steve Sarkisian’s program ranked among ESPN’s top 100 portal entrants. A Freshman All-American for Syracuse last season, Watson checked in at No. 66 while Endries, a Cal transfer who recorded 56 receptions for the Golden Bears in 2024, was ranked No. 90 overall. Muschamp's Recruiting Energy Matches His On-Field Presence *** One of the most common storylines coming out of Saturday's scrimmage was the echo of Will Muschamp's voice throughout DKR. Monday update on 5-star WR Dakorien Moore The headliner of a loaded visit weekend at Texas April 5-6 was Duncanville (Texas) High 5-star wide receiver and LSU commit Dakorien Moore. Moore made the trip from Dallas to Austin with his mom, who is from Austin. There were a number of family members that took part in the visit that live in the Austin area, including two of Dakorien's uncles. Some notes from Moore's visit 1. Keynodo Hudson (Nickels) The biggest thing that stood out to me today from Keynodo Hudson was his mentioning that Michael Taaffe had been training at nickel. Hudson described Taaffe as a “cerebral assassin” who possesses great spatial awareness, instincts, and playmaking ability, all of which are traits that he says help Taaffe in the slot. Hudson also mentioned that Taaffe has a little experience there from previous seasons on plays where he rotates down from his natural safety position.
