Sources have told OTF that tight end Jordan Washington will more than likely be out the remainder of the spring due to an injury that happened last week in practice. There are rumors that Washington's injury will require surgery, but I am told that is false. Washington is expected to compete for the starting tight end job that is wide open at this point. The Longhorns are expected to pursue a tight end in the portal, but that plan has been in place since the end of the season, regardless of this setback.

It is the fifth Director's Cup in the last six athletic seasons for Chris Del Conte and the Longhorns. Portal interior defensive lineman Jay Toia opted to return to UCLA late Monday evening. Toia was on campus with his family and younger brother over the weekend for the Texas spring game. Texas pushed for the talented interior defensive lineman, who was ranked as the 3rd best at his position per 247Sports. The decision for Toia to return is a blow. 2027 Lakeview Centennial CB Montre Jackson will be on campus this weekend for the Longhorns 12th spring practice. Jackson has been a name frequently mentioned around the top of the corners board in the ‘27 class.
