Earlier this week, OTF reported there was a possibility North Forney WR Briceson Thrower wouldn’t make it to his Texas A&M official visit scheduled for this weekend. After speaking with a source close to the recruitment on Friday morning, OTF can confirm Thrower’s trip to College Station is now off the schedule. With the schedule change, the only official visit remaining on the calendar is a trip to Texas set for June 12-14. Thrower previously officially visited Illinois back in April. Texas has honed in on its top 2028 quarterback target in Neimann Lawrence. The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage product will announce his decision on June 25th between Texas, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M. As OTF has reported numerous times, Lawrence is the top name to know in 2028 and we’re now formally projecting the Longhorns to win out for the elite signal caller later this month. Texas could have June official visitors from 11 states The Texas Longhorns currently have 30 official visits locked in after Saturday's flurry of wide receiver visit confirmations. The list of official visitors for June is certainly going over 40 (41 last June), and may well end up closer to 55 when all is said and done. As much as Texas is recruiting nationally, that means a number of states will be represented on the official visit list. I was very encouraged to see freshman running back Christian Clark working out with weights earlier this week. That means the talented runner from Arizona is well on his way to mending an Achilles heel tore in fall camp. On Texas Football is told that Texas continues to take a cautious yet hopeful approach with his future. On the positive side, Clark is now expected to participate in some drills this spring training. But the team will keep him out of any contact drills for the time being. Texas returns an All-American player at all three levels of the defense and will add the most impactful freshman class on the defensive side of the ball since Steve Sarkisian was hired. Of course, the big question remains up front on the defensive line – Has Texas done enough to be competitive, if not, what more must they do in the portal? Latest Intel on 2026 DB Yaheim Riley I met up with 2026 Austin Anderson DB Yaheim Riley last night a Bam Performance training session up in Manor for the latest on his recruitment. Riley was offered by new Texas nickels coach Keynodo Hudson on Monday, becoming the first offer by Hudson since the title change. Riley is still committed to Houston, and has been since making his decision back in December of 2024. Though I would say the Texas offer certainly caught his interest. Four-star RB target locks in Texas OV Long-time running back target in the 2026 cycle Amari Latimer (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) has locked in a June official visit. Texas running backs coach Chad Scott has been in communication with the Peach State downhill back since being hired at Texas, and has now locked in an OV. Latimer, 5-foot-11 and 210-pounds, was considered a Texas lean prior to Tashard Choice's departure for the NFL. Latimer now has three OV's locked in. A little more on Andre Cojoe injury. I’m told that Andre Cojoe’s injury occurred during Saturday’s practice and that he was wearing a knee brace at the time. Sometimes players go without knee braces and it costs them dearly, but that was not the case with Cojoe. ** I have heard that Zina Umeozulu has picked up where he left off this spring before being sidelined by a broken hand. They include: - The Coleman triplets; I only saw Jordan initially. - Caleb Chester - Zelus Hicks That is a total of 24 true freshman who saw action. The only two I did not see were Jackson Christian and Rickey Stewart. I could be wrong on Christian still. I’ll start my re-watch at about 10am this morning.
