How does a 17 year old high school kid get his favorite NBA team to draft him? He performs the greatest pre-draft workout in the history of sports for the greatest talent evaluator in the history of sports. It's literally unbelievable.

Just did an AI search on why Mavs fans are the dumbest and worst fans in the NBA, and it said they are. Dallas Mavericks fans are widely viewed as the "dumbest" and "worst" due to their recent statistical ranking as the most toxic, negative, and reactionary fanbase in the NBA. You can thank Cuban.

This is why the Lakers shouldn't build around loser Luka. Making the Finals is the standard, not something you celebrate.

I would like to point out that some of us started talking about Swain going between 14-18 as early as February. I'll stand by my claim that Swain will be better than Yaxel, Ament, Steinbach, and I'll throw in Morez Johnson. He'll be better than two or three of the guards too, but we'll need to wait to see who. Why will he be better? He can run offense without shooting himself, and he can get in the paint and score. Defensively, he'll be able to switch 1-4, and he has the length and athleticism to be a really good defender. If his outside shooting improves moderately, he's an all-star player.- Texas basketball 2026-27 season thread
To further Gerry's point, the NBA doesn't play centers in the post with their back to basket anymore. (That's not to say they shouldn't, but they don't.) Matas needs to become a better rim protector without fouling. He needs to show the ability to pass and screen better. All of this entails better quickness and lateral movement. Then he could get into the first round.- Media effort to get Royal to flip
Wide receiver is the most plentiful position in football.- NBA Finals
@Gerry Hamilton Here's another one for your Shaq stuff Gerry. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to an 89-84 victory in Game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers. Trailing by 15 points in the fourth quarter, Bryant paced the Lakers and stuffed the stat sheet, finishing the game as the team leader in points, rebounds, and assists. Kobe became the best player in the world that day.- NBA Finals
Whether Paul Howe is the "greatest" Delta Force combat leader is a matter of opinion, as the U.S. military does not officially rank its special operations leaders. However, he is widely regarded as the most respected, influential, and legendary combat leader in the history of 1st SFOD-Delta- NBA Finals
Can't resist, Gerry. AI says the two US military figures most like Kobe are George Patton and Paul Howe. Patton is the greatest combat general in US history and Paul Howe is the greatest individual warrior in Delta Force history, credited with killing more combatants ever in single battle during the Battle of Mogadishu during 3-4 October 1993- The hilarious flip flop flipping of Ben’Jarvius Schumaker
You want to go big boy? We can get to your level. Reporter: "Still waiting for a big smile out of you, you're up 2-0. What's the story? Are you not happy or you're only half happy, or..." Kobe Bryant: "What's there to be happy about?" Reporter: "You're up 2-0." Kobe Bryant: "Job's not finished. Job finished? I don't think so. I never gave a damn about anything until I won title."- The hilarious flip flop flipping of Ben’Jarvius Schumaker
You still went back to rote phrases. I'm not a coach. The keyboard doesn't know the difference between Ben'Jarvius and Plato.- The hilarious flip flop flipping of Ben’Jarvius Schumaker
Big boy recruiting does not necessitate subjecting yourself to the vicissitudes of localized socioeconomic instability. Try to come back with something better than "dumb" and "big boy."- The hilarious flip flop flipping of Ben’Jarvius Schumaker
What's dumb is investing resources in recruitments that have a high degree of inherent volitility.- The hilarious flip flop flipping of Ben’Jarvius Schumaker
Stay away from recruiting Mississippi like the plague. It's like it's still 1981 recruiting Marcus Dupree. Louisiana isn't much different.- Dailyn Swain goes No. 15 overall to the Chicago Bulls in the 2026 NBA Draft
There's still quite a bit of ill-informed reporting on Swain out there. I watched some guy claim Swain couldn't handle the ball or pass, but for some reason a team can run offense through him. It's obvious these guys don't watch any film or simply don't know what they're talking about. Where do these guys come from?- Dailyn Swain goes No. 15 overall to the Chicago Bulls in the 2026 NBA Draft
I agree with Gerry. Matas needs to show improved defensive movement, better processing on offense and defense (avoid silly fouls), more refined offensive skill to be a first rounder.- NBA Finals
Kobe said he never lost a 1v1 game. No one ever disputed him. Kobe Bryant famously stated that he never lost a game of one-on-one, once declaring, "If there's gonna be a player to beat me, he retired on that last shot in Utah in '98". He boldly claimed he would beat legends like LeBron James in his sleep and frequently bragged about dominating other stars, such as Tracy McGrady.- NBA Finals
Kobe performed the greatest draft workout in the history of world sports at the Inglewood YMCA on 9 June 1996.- NBA Finals
The greatest hypothetical 1v1 matchup in basketball history is Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant. Kobe dominated Jordan when they played. But Kobe was much younger. Kobe was born in 1978.- Baseball BOOM: Texas lands Kent State OF Sawyer Solitaria

I hope fat boy Luka goes back to the Mavs. As a Lakers fan, I can't stand loser Mavs players on my team.- Dusty May to Mavs
Who cares who Michigan hires? This be like Kobe 9 June 1996.- Dusty May to Mavs
I wish the NBA could back to the days when they could indisputably claim they had the best athletes in the world. Cuban spearheaded the rules change that screwed us all. I'm thinking 1996. Jordan was unquestionably the best athlete in the world. 9 June 1996, Kobe had the best draft workout in the history of sports as a 17 year old. The consensus greatest pre-draft workout in American sports history belongs to 17-year-old Kobe Bryant during his legendary 1996 session with the Los Angeles Lakers. Held at the Inglewood YMCA, Lakers General Manager Jerry West originally scheduled the session as a favor to Bryant's agent. To test the high schooler, West matched him up in a 45-minute, one-on-one session against Michael Cooper, a recently retired Lakers defensive legend, former Defensive Player of the Year, and 9-time NBA All-Defensive selection. Bryant dominated the veteran so completely that West famously stopped the session early, stating it was the "greatest workout I've ever seen" and immediately declaring, "He's better than anybody we have on our team right now." This singular workout forced West to orchestrate a trade for the 13th overall pick to secure Bryant, fundamentally altering NBA history.- Dusty May to Mavs
